converted files

I was somehow experimenting with options and uploading files to an external device. I must have created a folder called converted files. Now my library while I list certain albums contains duplicated of certain songs. when I edit I see these files now have the standard son in its normal location and a duplicate entry show as being in converted files folder. how do I get rid of these songs in the converted folder from showing

Not sure I understand correctly, but if you want to keep those duplicates in that folder without showing up in the library, then first remove the folder from the monitored folders setting in Preferences> Library. Then select those files in the main panel and remove them only from library (not from computer).
