convert to 2.3 when syncing

my car stereo is not picking up album art from files synced by MusicBee. my best guess is that it's the tags are in id3v2.4 format. I'd like to convert to 2.3 for that and other compatibility reasons.  but I don't want to give up 2.4 for my library.

I'm surprised this hasnt come up before. For the next update there is a new synchronisation setting added to force ID3 v2.3
