It would be pretty nice to be able to use Metal-archives.org for custom tags, lyrics etc. There's a plugin for mp3tag which roughly does this but it would be nice to have it integrated into musicbee.

There's a good variety of tags that could be retrieved from MA, such as ISRCs, album descriptions, band descriptions, lyrics, lyrical themes, band status, mediatype etc.

You can setup MP3Tag as an external tool (CTRL+O > Tools).  You can set that tool to a hotkey: CTRL+O > Hotkeys > Send to External Application (selected files). Also, you can set that tool as a clickable icon in your toolbar: Right click toolbar > Configure Toolbar > Command (Send To: External application).  Now mp3tag will launch in the directory of a selected file when you press the assigned hotkey or clicking the toolbar icon.  If you are folders are being monitored (CTRL+O > Library > Monitored folders), then any tag edits by mp3tag to files located in said folders will be automatically updated in Musicbee.
