Hello;

I have a question that may sound stupid but here it is.

I just downloaded MusicBee_Setup_3_1_6275 and before I open it I would like to know if I have to un-install the old version first.

I have had problems before with programs that do not have a command to check for updates, and after trying to install all I did was screw the entire program because there was no caveat to un-install the old version first.

I am now a fan of only using programs that have an automatic updater built in.

One exception to the rule is Music Bee, why, because it is the first media player I have had that gives me all the options I want.

Thanks for the answers.

No, you do not need to uninstall the old version. You either run the installer, or if you have one of the patches (you will know because it has several files, including MusicBee.exe and some .dlls) you copy those files into the MusicBee program folder and say ok to overwriting the old files.

However, you can always make a backup before upgrading.  Look for backup & restore on the wiki.
