This auto playlist is set to random shuffle, but many tracks are still clustering into groups by album or artist.  They are not tracks which are linked for playback.  If there's an underlying pattern, I haven't been able to find it.

That looks much more random, thank you!

I'm not sure it's still respecting the "least often played" setting?  Play counts range all the way from 0 to 16, and when I try to sort by Play Count, the numbers are still all mixed up.

yes that does appear to be case - the new sorting algorithm for playcount is fixed for the next update

Now the play count looks good!

I hate to not be done with this, but it looks like it's not respecting the "keep tracks in order when shuffling" setting now.  I just went back through to make sure everything's set as it should be, and they're still being separated.

not sure whats going on as MB is executing the code to keep the tracks in sequence and i have tested this several times now and working fine for me. Its not because they are getting sorted out of order in the main panel?

No, still not working, sorry.  I have a screenshot if you want, but I'm not sure what more it would tell you.  When I have the playlist in "Manual Order" it always separates the tracks, even though the whole album is in the playlist.
