I keep getting these error messages when I open musicbee and then when I try and play a file. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and have copied files from the latest patch into my musicbee folder and nothing has worked. I can't seem to find much help for this error on the forum or elsewhere.

Does MB open when you launch it and the problem occurs only when you attempt to play a file?

- What version of MB are you running? Installed or portable?
- Does the issue occur with -all- music files or just specific ones?
- What format is your music in?

- Try launching MB as administrator.
- Check your security app log to see if that is blocking MB. Avast is notorious for thinking MB is trouble.
- Check the Error Log (Help > Support > View Error Log.) If there are entries around the time of the error, please cut and paste here.

Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

there is a bug with older MB versions where it incorrectly reports issues with initialising an audio device as an error loading the preferences ie. the issue with probably with your audio device
