Author Topic: Two Tracks Showing as One Album When it Should be Two  (Read 2628 times)

I have two files saved and tagged as two separate albums. Each of the two tracks has distinct tags for track title, artist, album, and album artist. The artwork is also distinct. The only tags the two tracks have in common is the year, the track number, and the genre.

In Album View there is only one image showing (there should be two as there are two albums) and the expanded view of the album shows the two tracks. The Tag Inspector shows everything as correct. If I attempt to edit one of the tracks showing in the expanded view I see the proper tags. Same with the other track. Yet if I try to edit from the album art (right-click > edit) the tag edit window only shows the tags in common. Again, that's all correct and as it should be. Except for the fact that it  should be displaying as two different albums.

Obviously I'm missing something, but I can't figure out where to look to find it. Here are some screenshots to further illustrate the issue:

Definitely no hidden extra albums tags? That would have been my first guess.
Maybe they both reside in the same folder and your grouping is 'album are organised in their own folder"?

I forgot to add that these reside in the Inbox. But no grouping is enabled. I'm not sure I understand where the "hidden extra album tags" might be. If you're referring to 'album' and 'album artist' then definitely no. And nothing on the Tags (2) is filled in.

You have to have some setting in sorting/grouping for defining an album, even if it's just album name.

Negative. No grouping. And if I group by Album, nothing changes. Needless to say (but I will anyway) this is getting very perplexing!

Ah yes, of course. Preferences. I think we're on to something. :-)

I've had the 'original' settings for years. Amazing that I never experienced this before.
I think we're all set now.

Thanks for the pointers.
