What's the proper way to add different icons to the Store version?

my custom icon would not save after closing and re opening musicbee so I tried to put it in the apps skins folder but as you know with windows apps you have to mess about with permissions. is there a more straightforward way to get this to work smoothly?

try portable version, it's much more convenient.
