Limit the amount of space used in a portable device

I have a phone and I'd like to randomly “fill it”, but don't want to use all my storage with music. Is there a way to tell MB to only take a certain amount of GB when doing this?

If you're just transferring files and not reencoding them,  this is easy to do with an auto-playlist.

I did think of that. Unfortunately, around 80-85% of my library is in FLAC, and I want mp3s in my device.

Yeah, I have the same kind of problem.  I'd suggest sent if you can estimate the number of tracks or length of playlist that would fit. Shouldn't be too hard I'd you know what size mp3 you're converting to
