I keep running across various files that don't have album art embedded in them. I have hundreds of songs and don't want to audit each one. How do I get MusicBee to search for just the songs that DON'T have album art? Thanks!

Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

sorry to bump this up but i see no way to filter for files with missing EMBEDDED album art.

i have cover.jpg files in my folders that seems to count as having album art.

but i would like to filter for files that have no EMBEDDED artwork.

There's an updated version of this filter. It's called Album Artwork Manager (Tools > Artwork). You can tell it you want to filter for files which don't match your storage preferences. So if your preferences are set to embedded, it will find files which aren't embedded.

ah ok. i guess i have to rescan the library after i made the changes to the preferences before that will work?

i have set the display artwork to embedded only, rescanned the artwork but i still get no results when i choose "does not match your storage preferences".

I'm not sure about that but it can't hurt.

Yes it does look like there is a bug for the storage settings you are using. I will see if it can be fixed

edit:
I see the code only validates the primary picture. I guess all your primary pictures are linked picture files and hence pass validation.
I probably wont change this

so there is no way to check if artwork is embedded with music bee?

all my album folders have a cover.jpg file in it.
but i want to find all songs that have no embedded artwork because some DLNA players donĀ“t see the cover.jpg files.
they only look for embedded artwork.

You could try using Album Art Downloader for this.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/

Select File > New > File Browser... and scan your music folders in manageable chunks.
This will show if albums have any album art, and whether it is embedded or external.

It checks for embedded artwork first, so if the Artwork Status shows a track file name, that track contains embedded artwork.

e.g.

First album has no artwork.
Second album has external artwork only.
Third album has embedded artwork (or both).

It will require your music to be well tagged or well organised so it can determine which tracks make up an album.
Bee excellent to each other...

<0> means embedded artwork or both? Never knew that.

so there is no way to check if artwork is embedded with music bee?

Zak's suggestion above works, and also with MP3TAG, you can set up a "Cover" column that displays "1" if there is embedded artwork. Load all your music files and sort that column. You can then set up Album Art Downloader as a tool to search for artwork for files that don't have it.
