Hi!

I've been looking on Music Bee for how many songs/folders it can hold. I know of others that you pay for that can do over 100.000+ music and video files. Can anyone please tell me how many Music Bee can do! Thanks!

There is no hard-coded limit on the number of tracks MB can work with.  I seem to recall Steven mentioning recently that he knew of a user who had over 100,000 tracks.  Or perhaps it was over 200,000.  I can't find his post right now, but maybe he can jump in and confirm.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I'm pretty sure it was 600,000.  :D

I think I'll add this to the FAQ.  In any case, I think this is the post you were thinking of: http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=18639.msg112320#msg112320.  But I found several others where Steven had mentioned that.

Good idea. It does come up a lot.

Yes, that's the one. Obviously I "under-remembered" the number he provided.

My phone was randomly capitalizing things earlier; I fixed it now.

Maybe it's based on this self-report: http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=5318.0
There's one guy with 500K+, two with 400K+, and one with 300K+.

Depending the language MB is written in (e.g. do variables/arrays have intrinsic sizes) and the structure of the database file, I wouldn't expect there to be a realistic limit.

For example, Microsoft Excel has a 1 million row limit and can easily handle that. Notepad++ can open even bigger files (although it'll take awhile). Point being, max size is typically outrageous these days.

Hi there

Currently I have over 330,000 songs and under 20,000 albums and MusicBee hasn't fallen over yet, so it looks like it can hold a lot of stuff.

Thanks

David

I'm on track to pass 1 million items in my library and considering my PC is cutting edge for 2012-but-its-2021 MusicBee runs very well. Not lightning fast, but well.

Hi there
It can handle a lot. I have over 350,000 songs and it can handle all of them without a hitch.

Thanks.
