After upgrading from v2 to version 3.0.5973, HitmanPro.Alert prevents MusicBee from launching because it supposedly intercepts an attack. This may very well be a false positive, and it may also be related to other users reporting trojan warnings when using the installer.

I contacted the Bass developer about this. He doesnt think updating the bass.dll would help and indicated that he couldnt see how the calls in the log could have happened.
I guess you would either need to add musicbee to your security software's exception list or go back to using v2.5

If you are still around, the bass developer has now offered to provide a test version that might address the issue. No matter what, its not a virus, rather your security software appears to be interpreting some "hacky" code as suspicious behavior.
Let me know if you are happy to try it.

I just installed v3 again on my pc. To my surprise, the issue seems to have solved itself. MusicBee now launches fine, and this is before replacing bass.dll with the modified version. I reinstalled MusicBee several times yesterday to test if it was an installation issue, but the issue kept persisting no matter what I tried.

After using v3 on my pc for an hour, I decided to update to v3 on my notebook as well. This notebook is running the exact same security software as my pc. Upon launching MusicBee, HitmanPro.Alert once again intercepted an attack by bass.dll. Relaunching MusicBee kept producing the same error, and so I replaced bass.dll with the modified version you linked. This modified version fixes the problem: MusicBee now launches and works fine. Upon placing the old bass.dll back, out of curiosity, the problem reoccurs. I tried to reboot my notebook and I made sure the security software has the same version and definitions as on my pc, but I could not reproduce the magical cure that occured on my pc.

Long story short: the modified bass.dll works; I have no clue as to why the problem magically dissapeared on my pc.

Good to hear its addressed the issue. I have passed this feedback to the bass developer and i will include the new bass.dll file in future releases.
I suggest you pass this information to the development team of HitmanPro so they can take appropriate action.
