hi there;
i recently started using musicbee + like it ... mostly...
there is one issue i thought i'd bring to your attention.
i have a large flac song library + even after rescan, a good portion have no song title.
it does show filename when i check that.

 - song titles are correct with songbird and mediamonkey.

- i have the latest mod 1.2.3902 installed - windows 7 - 32

thx

if you edit a file, then click the Tag Inspector button do you see any tags that are the track title and if so what is the tag name
if none are there do you think the title might be set to the filename?

g'day Steve;
the songs with missing titles have no title in the tag info.
i took a closer look at the files, and the titles are a bit off - ie - "06 drum duet"
when i remove the " 06 " and rescan - the title shows up.

the titles do show up in songbird + mediamonkey correctly - even with the " 06 "

looks like i have a bit of editing ahead of me.. lol

thx.

if you are using 1.2.3900+ there is a new auto-tag function
right click/Auto-Tag by Track/Infer Tags from Filename

then set the template as appropriate
suggest you try it on a copy of one file to make sure your happy how it works

thx for helping Steve;

i love the perfomance + features of musicbee.
however, i have hundreds of songs without song titles - in musicbee,
 - while these same songs are properly tagged in songbird and mediamonkey - just by scanning.
i tried the infer option, and it seems to work, one song at a time.

i am just not into manually tagging each of these songs for musicbee.

i'll try it out again in a few weeks.

i appreciate you helping me out m8.

thx again.

you can do it in bulk but before you go one thing i want to be sure of - did you actually check the file with the Tag Inspector button which is an extra button on the tag editor window.
I just want to be sure the title isnt tagged as a different tag name

hi Steve;
the songs with missing titles have no titles in the tag inspector. album name- artist track number are all there.
when i click properties in the same panel - location shows the correct info - title etc.
in the main window, if i check filename when selecting columns. the song title shows up there...but not under title column.
this only for a 150 or so song titles out of 8500+ flac.
not a big deal as these titles do show up in songbird and mediamonkey.

ps - i'm running 3903 on windows 7 - 32.

cheers.

Hi, i know i'm resurrecting an old thread however I wanted to know if you had found a solution. I'm updating tags on my music on musicbee which works amazingly. However After I edit the files the song information will disappear. It shows correctly at the file location as well as in the track information panel. If i try to edit the information again it may or may not show up, and even then it tends to dissappear on MusicBee. The Files are FLAC and MP3. Any help is appreciated, dont want to move back to iTunes. ::shudder::
