Reading through this post http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=18038.0, shows up a conflict between Episode Date and Release Time.
Episode Date is saved in TDRL (doesn't get saved in TXXX/TDRL if v2.3)
pre-defined custom tag 'Release Time' is also TDRL
you can't use Episode Date as the tag name if you try to match it to Release Time as a custom tag
set up Release Time as a custom tag and info saved as Episode Date in TDRL is ignored by MB and does not show in tag editor, but Episode Date does show in Tag Inspector.

i recall the tags used are to be consistent with iTunes date handling for podcasts. But its ages since i have looked at this and i certainly wont make any tag handling changes at this point in the v3 release

Whenever you get the time
v3.1, v3.2 ... , it'll be a bug just waiting in the queue :)

i decided to address this now. If you define a custom tag for Release Time, it should now load into the custom tag (you would probably need to rescan the files)
for podcasts, its still also available in the MB Episode Date field
