Hey guys, I maintained my current MB library at A:\ and I always backup a copy of MB library at B:\ using SyncToy.

A:\ is getting cranky these days and I will like to make B:\ the new MB Library.

In this case, do I "Rename Music Folder" or "Move Library"? Also do I need to redefine rules for moving music as previously all rules are referencing to A:\

Thanks in advance for answers!

Simon

It's not a good idea to assign the A: and B: letters to hard drives.
Even in Windows 10 there is still legacy code to treat them as floppy drives.
As such, drive indexing does not work correctly on these drives, making data searching take longer and making the drives work harder.

But A:\ drive is cranky and I foresee it will be faulty soon. So that's why I will like to use the back up copy B:\ as the new library

I'm using A: and B: as they are actually portable HDD and the letters are assigned by Windows when they are plugged in.
It's true that searching now is slow as I have about 75000 files in the HDD now.
Please share if there's a more efficient way of indexing the music library.
