If you used a download link that was provided in this forum you are safe.
I just checked myself:

Just did a recheck of the original file on Virustotal.com and it is confirmed as OK. The SHA256 hash matches your results also.
Thanks for the quick response.

Hello,

I would like to use MusicBee.

A few minutes ago I downloaded a version from the MusicBee site through the direct link and I scanned it with VirusTotal (English). Here comes the result :

Baidu    Win32.Virus.Lamer.g

A virus is detected by Baidu antivirus.

What's surprised me is that when I scanned then with the French version of VirusTotal 2 virus were dectected :

Baidu    Win32.Virus.Lamer.g    20160402
Rising    PE:Malware.Generic/QRS!1.9E2D [F]

How can I get a clean version ?

Thanks

Hi Sneedee,

I can assure you: it ís clean.

The fact that only 2 (relatively unknown) out of 56 virus scanners "found a virus" is indicative there's no virus at all. Virustotal.com is a great tool but you have to learn to interpret the results. I know of cases where the results are far more suspicious (e.g. about 60% "viruses found") and even then the file is safe. False positives in other words.

To help you with this it even tells you (citation): "Probably harmless! There are strong indicators suggesting that this file is safe to use." and it also shows 5 green "holy smilies" and 0 "satan smilies". This, together (!) with the very low detection ratio (2/56), tells you that the files are perfectly (*) safe.

* Ofcourse there's never a 100%-perfectly-safe-guarantee (even if nothing is detected!) but risks have to be taken in life otherwise you might as well unplug your computer from the Internet and write your own software :-)

Thank you for answering so fast

How long have you been using the last version of MusicBee without any problem ?

Hi Sneedee,

I started using v2.5.xxxx almost two months ago (so I'm quite late to the party because it exists for seven years already: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MusicBee). A few weeks later I decided to upgrade to v3.0.xxxx That version did have a number of bugs (to be expected from a beta version) but Steven fixed most bugs already and it's really stable. I had been using Winamp with MEXP (a library plugin) for many years but I'm hooked to MB since I started using it.

If you're referring to "problem" like in "virus problem", there's really no need to be concerned about that. No problem here whatsoever and again: MB does not come with malware or adware.
