Hello All - I'm a new MusicBee user (convert from MediaMonkey) and I'm having a curious problem. If any song is over 1000kbps, MB won't play it. It just stops playing until I manually skip the track.

I'm guessing this is either a plug-in or setting but can't find it anywhere. The same songs will play on VLC or FB2K and the same machine, so the files are good.

The soundcard is up-to-date (Realtek Semiconductor Corp., driver date: 2015-09-15, driver version: 6.0.1.7614)
MusicBee version 2.5.5721. - All file converters/encoders have been installed and enabled. The machine is a Windows 10 Pro, 10.0.10240 64bit laptop, intel i&-3667UCPU, 2.5GHz, 8Gb Ram.

Can anyone direct me to whatever setting is required to play these tracks?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forum!

I'm probably not much more help now than I was on the wiki, but I know I've played FLAC files over 1K, so it can't be JUST that.  And there's definitely no special plugin or anything.  You might try fiddling with the settings in Preferences > Player, though.  Can you give us any other info about how these files were created, etc?

And here is a track that won't play: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nos0m1gz87jjluh/01.%20Slow%20Black%20River.flac?dl=0

The track will play fine in VLC, FB2K, Windows Media Player, etc.. I've notice that if the track is anything less than 1000 kbps, it'll play. Anything above 1000 kbps, then nothing. Combing through the options, nothing stands out as a setting that'll impact this.

I downloaded the track and it played fine for me, so there must be something different with your setup.  My Audio Player preferences are totally default, for what it's worth.

Thanks for trying that out.

new detail... MB stops playing tracks over 1000 kbps when playing through the Remote Speaker plugin. It will play over local speakers however as you've mentioned. So unless i'm jumping to conclusions, the Remote Speaker plugin seems to be at play.

I've asked E. Milles about this.
