MB crashes and loses settings and library (resets to factory default)

Hi,

Once in a while (like once every 2 months) when I shut down my laptop before closing MB and I turn it back on and launch MB i'll end up resetting everything to default. It just happened again earlier today.

ATM my solutions is to set cobian backup to run and backup the settings and library files, because I'd often shut down while forgetting MB first.

I'm not skilled in this but one solution I can think of would be to have it be like MS Word or Excel, where if your work isn't saved they stop you from shutting down. (I'm using win8)
