Having got a new laptop I decided it was time to start my digital music collection from scratch. After some searching I chose Musicbee for the purpose.

I've started loading my music in from my CD collection but it'd not going well.

Firstly when I put the discs in it is very rarely finding album art and sometime not track names - Is this normal?

Second, having uploaded the albums I have been able to get the Tag? information but it seems to disappear - Why does this happen?

Third - Where I have tried to get the album info on a couple of occasions I have ended up with multiple copies of each track when I click on the album. And still no track names.

Seriously frustrated. I'm running this on Windows 10 if that makes an difference. Can provide screen shots if needed

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Screenshots would definitely be helpful.  Unless you have some ultra rate artists or homemade compilations, it is not normal for mb not to be able to find info (I am assuming you mean in the CD-ripping screen)

Be sure to take a look at the Tag inspector (available in the Tag editing screen) when you are having trouble. That will show you the raw tag info in a  file.

Most of the problems you describe are not bringing up any ideas for me yet, but the multiple files showing up might be related to embedded cue sheets, and problems accessing info online could be related to a problem with security software.  If you white list mb or turn off your security software, does that help?

Ok, one problem seems to have resolved it's self.

When I rip a CD the pop up giving the Album versions to chose from was not popping up so it was ripping with minimal info and then I was having to right click the album and get the album info that way. For some reason it has just started coming up every time so that seems ok.

I have two albums now that are causing problems. one just seems to be multiplying tracks for some reason (had 3700 last time I looked) the other has two of each track, one with the track info and one without.

Don't seem to be able to attach files or paste images so no screen shots.

Try this:

I wholeheartedly endorse the second method as the easiest way to post screenshots to this forum.  If you can boil water, you can use this!!
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Since this method of posting a screenshot seems to be appreciated and water-boiling proof, I took the liberty of creating an additional 'how-to post a screenshot' topic, using this tool:
