So I had a few questions, before I download music bee. Which version is better to install portable or just the standard installation.

Once I've installed MusicBee, is there any settings that you recommend I change. Or what would be the best or good configuration in musicbee? Any Advice?

Since updates are released, and there is no auto update option, how would you install the patches when they come out?

Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Which is better depends on your environment.  If you're going to use it strictly on the same computer, and have full admin access for installation, then the standard version will probably be fine.  Portable is for systems where you don't have admin access, or if you want to put it on a thumb drive to use on multiple computers.

Likewise, configuration is going to be about your preferences.  You can look at some of the screenshots here (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=2258) for ideas, or explore the options for layout and find what you like: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Layout_Preferences.

Definitely make regular backups!  And if you change settings related to file organization or tagging, test them to see if you like what they do before applying them to the whole library.
