Musicians in Tags-How to handle?

Hi,
Just decided I would like to keep track of the main musicians on my albums and what they play.
I do have another database for this but it is mostly cd based, and I mostly just use mp3's now.

Wondering how others have handled this?
Do you use a custom field/s? is it written to the tag (and which one) or just written to MB database?
something as simple as musician1-vocals; musician2-guitar; Musician3-bass; Musician4-drums
Or would I be better to use several fields renamed as  ie Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums.....and just enter the musician names in there?

Any idea welcome. I mostly track blues music and some pop.

I use the Musicians Credit List and Involved People List ID3 Tags.
These are already set up for use in MB and just need to be activated in the custom tags list.



I use the instrument:musician, musician2 format
