Random / shuffle is ridiculous

I am shuffling music from a playlist of about 1,200 and it keeps playing the Pixies. I only have 30 or so Pixies songs but I just got 5 of them in a row. Every time I play it in random it just keeps going back to Pixies, every other song some times.

I know it probably sounds like I am imagining it but out of 1,200 I shouldn't be getting the same artist over and over again.

My shuffle settings are just set to 'random' nothing else is selected.

Instead of "random", try the "different/same artist" setting, and adjust the slider all the way towards "different artist".
