Author Topic: MusicBee is not installing  (Read 1713 times)

When I try to install MusicBee (both Desktop and Portable), nothing happens.
I am asked for the administrator's permission, but nothing else happens. A process called "MusicBeeSetup_2_4 (32 bit)" shows in task manager, but no resources except 0.1 MB of memory are being used by it.
I have tried re-downloading the program, as well as logging off and on again. Is this a problem with what I am doing, or a problem with the installer?
I am running Windows 8.1.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum TauNeutrin0,
Did you have any anti-virus software running during installation of MusicBee?

I have Norton 360, and it is always running in the background. However, it is not running any scans. Norton gives the installation file a 'good' rating, so does not seem to be classing it as a threat at least.

[1 minute later] Ok I have now tried turning on 'Silent mode' in Norton and it has installed! Thank you very much @hiccup, I am now importing my music.

Good to hear!
It's a bit annoying that some antivirus products hide their incorrectly protective actions from their users.

At least now we know we can Norton 360 to that list.
