Oops, no the issue is that the default(?) behavior of MusicBee is to put new files into the Inbox and not into the library(?) and I have to manually add each new file.  This behavior seems odd to me especially as I used MusicBee to rip these new files.  My expectation is that when I rip a file using MusicBee it's automatically added to the library.  I'm not sure what the need for the Inbox is and it certainly wasn't clear to me that I needed to manually futz with it (maybe it should be called something other than "Inbox" -- "Staging").

I think it's true that there's no obvious way to send ripped files directly to the library.  You can rip them to a monitored folder that is sent directly to the library, but that's not an option on the CD Ripping screen.

These are the things I can't understand the confusion over.  By the time you get around to ripping CD's, surely you've already set up your monitored library folders, so when you set the 'save to folder:' location in the ripping preferences, you would know if that was in your library or not.
Yes 'add ripped files to the Inbox' is ticked by default, but if you had no idea what the 'Inbox' was, wouldn't you hit "?" and get the wiki page that clearly states

add ripped files to the inbox

(Default: ticked) When ticked the ripped files will be viewable in the Inbox section of your library. The inbox is a holding area that is intended to allow you to review and edit file tags before you add the files to your library.
.

At the very least, if you didn't know what it did, wouldn't you un-tick that option?

A rip to library option option wasnt provided because the filenaming templates could conflict with the library auto-organised naming template but i agree the option should be provided in the ripper so i will add it and simply disable the rip naming templates if the library is auto-organised

So now I can't rip to a folder of my own choosing without also adding the files to the Inbox. Correct?

added: I mean, that's with auto-organise turned on.

the rip now either goes to the library or to the inbox. If the library is auto-organised then the library organisation rules determine the file path

OK. So we have lost that function.  :(
But, I suppose I can always just delete them out of the Inbox for the times I require it that way, and the upside is ripping directly to the library.
