I wish to effect the following in mass:

1. Convert ID3v2.4 tags to ID3v2.3 (UTF-16) -- and the other way around.

2. Renumber selected tracks to numbers with any number of leading zeros.

Can this be done with Advanced Tag & Replace? I welcome any assistance, as I cannot locate the commands in it to effect this.

Thanks.

If you edit a tag in MusicBee, it will save the file with whichever tag format is specified in Preferences > Tags (1), converting from another format if required.

Doing it in mp3tag might be easier if you have a lot of files to update.
Bee excellent to each other...

Thank you Zak.

My files are all properly tagged, but it's a mix I wish to standardise. Could you, or anybody else, please recommend the most appropriate version if it's a choice between ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4? My reading suggests I should choose ID3v2.3. Other, well-motivated tag-suggestions are also welcome. :)

Thank

2.3 will be the most universally readable, by Windows and other programs.  2.4 has more fields and more advanced handling for multiple tags, etc.
