After updating to Avast 2015, I immediately realized something bad similar to 2014 update was happening. This time, it was more robust and annoying than DeepScreen of 2014. It's called NG, upgraded version of DeepScreen. Whatever it can do for me, I knew I wouldn't need that kind of feature. Here's how I have it configured.

- Control Panel> Programs and Features> Avast> Select "Change" menu> uncheck "NG" under Tools (also unchecked "Home Network Security" feature)> Reboot

- Avast settings> General> uncheck "DeepScreen" and "Hardened Mode"

- Avast settings> Troubleshooting> uncheck "hardware assisted virtualization"

Now it's working as smoothly as 2014 version with minimum system resources used.

Thanks for the warning redwing. I'm sure Avast'll prompt me to update soon, and it's nice to be forewarned of the brief pain it's going to cause.
