Maybe I'm overlooking something, but it seems I have a library problem.

On a Share, I have a directory which contained MP3 files with an all lowercase filename.

In Windows I changed those filenames to start with an Uppercase and did a refresh files.
But Musicbee continues to show them im lowercase but plays them correctly.

I did a test, and modified the names in Windows to something else, after the refresh the change was shown correctly in Musicbee.
Then I changed the names back to the original one (but with the uppercase). After a refresh again all lowercase names are shown.

Seems somewhere things are cached and don't get refreshed when only a lowercase-uppercase change is applied to the filenames.

What can I do ?

Apparently it is a library problem  :(

Solved by forcing MusicBee to create a new library

MB doesn't really "do" capitalization changes in file names.  You'll probably see the same thing continue to happen as you change capitalization.

I didn't do any capitalization in MB.
They had been done in Windows followed by an rescan files in MB.
Meaning MB doesn't see capitalization changes to be applied in the library.
As said, clicking the "old" filename does play the "new" filename

I think wquatan is saying that there was no capitalization done in MB, only in Windows Explorer.  But it seems to work the same, either way.  MusicBee just isn't sensitive to case changes as they relate to naming of files, whether it's the file or the tags that change.

Indeed, capitalization only outside MB.

And it's IMHO worse than detecting capitalization :

file aaa : shown in MB as aaa (OK)
rename aaa to Xaaa  + rescan : shown in MB as Xaaa (OK)
rename Xaaa to Aaa + rescan : shown in MB again as aaa (NOK)

Above aren't capitalization changes, nevertheless ....

To be clear, adding a file directly as Zzz is shown in MB as Zzz (OK)
