I have recently started experimenting with skinning.

Is there a faster way to test new changes than restarting MB every time?
Also I am not able to directly save to the MB install directory, so I have to copy the skin file over every time. Is there a better way?

Unfortunately restarting MusicBee is necessary to refresh the changes, no way around that.

Something I've tried that might be helpful to you, place a symbolic link in the installation folder that points to your custom skin, that way you can just keep overwriting it and there is no need for coping and pasting of the file.

You can also assign a hotkey to restart the program, which might speed things up a bit.
