I am exporting to an SD card and specifying M3U as the playlist type. Unfortunately this inserts what appears to be a byte order mark (EF BB BF) at the start of the first entry, causing an error when that file tries to play.
This used to be a problem in exported library playlists, but by selecting M3U(ascii) rather than M3U the playlist did not have these 3 characters at the start. However, this option does not seem to be available when exporting to an external device.
Is there any way to export the playlist and ensure these unwanted characters do not appear?
Thanks.

It's not MTP, so if you can add that option that would be spiffing. Thanks Steven  :)
