Taskbar pinned icon

Hi
I'd like to pin Musicbee to my windows 8 taskbar and i want the icon to be the awsome yellow one(think it's rotem something).i made a shortcut of the executive file and i changed the icon and pinned it to taskbar.the problem is that when i run it two instances appear on taskbar,now i know that i should first run the app then pin it to prevent this issue but then the icon would be the black one which is less awsome .is there a solution for this?

unpin MB icon, restart MB and pin running MB icon. Then you can change pinned MB icon by right-clicking on it (windows restart may be required).

You need to do it in 3 steps: 1st right-click on MB icon, context menu will be opened, then right-click on 'MusicBee' item and select 'Properties'. Then select 'Change icon'

Umm logicly it shoud have worked but the icon isn't changing...!

As far as I understand this option changes only tray icon.

Yeah i've done that, it changes the app icon but not the shortcuts or the taskbar pinned icon.

Right click again on "MusicBee".  That will give you the option to change the icon.

i think it's because the original .exe file icon can't be changed.i'm thinking of modifing the original .exe file and changing the icon once and for all. http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Icon-for-an-Exe-File

No, I can change icon on my PC.

Sorry, you're right.  You can't change the PINNED taskbar icon without changing the EXE icon.  I can have a custom icon based on the desktop shortcut (which I do), but as soon as I pin it it reverts to the other icon.

borodo74, are you able to change the actual program icon or just the shortcut?

Just shortcut. But for me restarting of windows is always required.

Actually for pinned apps usual shortcuts are automatically created. And (for me) Windows respects shortcut's icon.

NB: But I'm using Windows 7 x64

Guys i finally did it.i found where the taskbar pinned shortcuts are stored and changed it from there.similar to right-clicking on the taskbar icon changing the icon of the shortcut did nothing,but i aimlessly created a copy of the shortcut and somehow it worked!.again sorry for my bad english

as u can see in the picture MB is running,only one icon is shown in the taskbar and it is the icon i wanted.i still can't figure how making a copy of the file made the problem go away...
