Author Topic: Selecting individual songs by artist artwork in general playlist  (Read 1940 times)

Hello,

The issue I'm having is that I have a big playlist (on screenshot it's called "All"), when it is being played, all the artists(363) in that playlists are displayed with their artwork in the middle of the player and I can use their images to find the song I want, however, each time I do that, it creates another playlist of all the albums of that artist.

What I want to do is have my big playlist of thousands songs being played all the time but when I select an artist's image and click the song I want, it should be played IN that playlist, without creating a new one. Basically, I want to use the artwork to navigate more easily throughout my playlist, have the song I want played and have my playlist resume in shuffle mode afterwards. Is that possible?

I don't entirely understand what you're doing and what's happening when you do, but see if any of the options in Customize Panel Settings help you: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Artwork_View.

You may also/instead need to change the "Play Now" settings: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Now_Playing_Preferences

Actually the Play Now settings guide helped, thanks.

However, the queue next function adds that song to the playlist, basically making a duplicate instead of playing existing one. It's kind of difficult for me to explain it in English but hmm.

Let's imagine  I have a playlist of songs names of which are numbers from 1 to 5. There is no shuffle enabled. Right now song '2' is playing. I'm using Artist Artwork to find a song '4'. I'm double clicking it and instead of playing song '4' in my original playlist of 5 songs, it creates another 'now playing' with just song '4'. If I use queue next option, it adds another song '4' to my 1-5 playlist,  and makes it so that there are 2 songs '4' there now.

I understand what you're saying. The only way I can think of to work around it is, after you've started your playlist playing, switch to show the Now Playing List in the main panel.  Then you can use the "Queue" next command on any track and it should work the way you're describing.

I think. :)
