Generate Playlist for Portable Device

I'm just starting out with MusicBee, and I must say it seems very powerful. I'm trying to generate a playlist to download to my phone, and am using the playlist mixer to generate the list with some simple criteria based on genre and song duration. I would love to equalize out the frequency of artists such that the downloaded playlist is not stacked with the artists that show up most in my music library. I used the "gap before same artist can repeat" to try and achieve this. I noticed that the maximum track count that can be used is 999.

Is this the right approach? Ideally, I'd like to equalize the frequency of the artists, and set a total size of the playlist in GB. Is there a better approach?
