OK, now let's try this, assuming your settings file got corrupt somehow.

Locate your settings file (Help> Support> View Settings File) and move the file out of the folder.

Launch MB, set up the providers setting again, and try searching tags and artworks.

I am at work right now, so don't have access to that computer again until tonight but will try that.  On another note...I am on my laptop now, and have updated to the latest version.  I get no results from Gracenote on this setup either!?

What was your MB version prior to the update? And was it a normal or a portable installation?

It was 2.2, not sure if there was a subversion after that since I have already updated everything, but I ran "MusicBeeSetup_2_2.exe" on January 31.  I believe it is just the normal installation.

I renamed the settings file to "MusicBeeSettings.old.ini" and restarted musicbee, which created a new settings file.  Still not results at all from Gracenote.

Now I'm running out of ideas. Hopefully Steven could locate the cause.

Someone else was having trouble accessing GraceNote today.  It's working okay for me, though.  For what it's worth, I'm on 2.3.5153.

I'm on 2.3.5155....wonder if something broke with the update?

Could this be an antivirus or firewall issue? If you're running any of them, try disabling them.

Also try the following link to see if it's a connection problem rather than an MB issue.

Is my software not connected?

If you’re having problems reaching our service (your CDs are not recognized) or you’re getting a Server Error, please click this link (http://service.gracenote.com/). If you see this sentence, “This system is used for the Gracenote Media Recognition Service" that means that your computer can reach the Gracenote recognition service. For further assistance, you should contact the company that built your product.

I turned off Windows firewall, my antivirus, and my spyware protection with no change in results :(

I can reach that site and get the sentence that shows I'm connected.

nothing has been changed with gracenote.
Could you run this debug version - it will write entries to the end of the error log (help/ support/view error log) for the auto-tag by album function only when you execute the search:

unzip and replace musicbee.exe

I can replicate this issue with fresh installations of both 2.2 normal and portable version. After updating to the latest patch, GraceNote doesn't work for either version. But my original portable installation is working fine.

@Steven:

Are there some files needed to use GraceNote service?

ok, thanks redwing. Thats the problem. It looks like gracenote has a limit on the number of users and MB has exceeded the limit

So it allows only one installation of MB with my IP address. That explains it.

actually i am not sure - i think there might be too many people in general using musicbee with gracenote for the non-commerical license. I have contacted them too see what is going on
