I've currently had my MusicBee set up with the details at the bottom panel. It shows the album art on the left and rotates through pictures of the artist on the right. This has never been perfect, but I notice with the last couple of updates up to 2.3.5133 many of the songs show the wrong artist, most of them I have no idea who they are. And its not just one or two photos, but some times around 8 or more. I'm not sure if its just one server source for artwork doing this, or MusicBee searches for partial names instead of full names before returning results.
Also can I configure MusicBee to only show the artist photo of the Album Artist, and not Artist and Composer by default?

Try unticking flickr.com on the panel settings.

You can't configure it to retrieve pics of another tag values with MB default layout. But it's possible with theater views if you edit gallery element line of the xml file from "tags:Artist" part to "tags:AlbumArtist".

Also there's "Ban Picture" command upon right-clicking on the wrong picture that prevents the pic from re-appearing in case even disabling flickr wouldn't help.

Ban picture appears greyed out for me in the right-click menu, so I can't use it, any idea why that is?

I have exactly the same problem which I posted here. Got no answer about it.

I did notice one time I looked since then that it wasn't greyed out, but it wasn't a picture that I wanted to ban :D

My problems aren't even artists with the same name as such - I don't want to look at Fall Out Boy when I'm listening to The Fall, I don't want to look at Pearl Jam when I'm listening to The Jam  - and I can't work out why when I listen to Can it likes to show me a picture of Norman Cook :D
