Yes, I have made sure that in MusicBee the genre is tagged correctly, and all music files are mp3.  Not sure what to do to fix the situation.  If this has been covered, I apologize, but I could not find it in the forum.  Thanks
If it is only happening with (some) mp3 files, you could use a program such as MP3Diags to check if there perhaps is some file corruption going on.

Questions / Error Message when trying to play
Last post by motorguy on April 11, 2024, 07:28:34 PM   |  Started by motorguy
Been using  MusicBee for years. Love it. I'm running v3.5.8447 on a Win11 machine.  Just started getting the following error message no matter what song I try to play.

An Unexpected Error Occurred. The Type Initializer for '#=zPmNvfMEbPkSQqk816A==' Threw an Exception

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

UPDATE:  Decided to download the installler again and did a new install.  Now works perfectly.  Thanks and sorry to bother.

Questions / Re: Move to Organised Folder AND Remove From Library = Possible?
Last post by tjinc on April 11, 2024, 06:10:54 PM   |  Started by stewlewis
The 'add to library' option is greyed out because the files are already in the library.
I don't think there is a way to move/organise files and to remove from the library in the same breath.

My first thought on this would be to move the files to your server as you currently do (do you move or copy? You use both terms in your post) but also maintain a library filter based on file location (<Path> starts with .....). From this filter you could periodically 'select all' and 'remove from library'.

Bug Reports / Re: playlist lock doesn't prevent deleting

Thanks for the detailed feedback on what that button covers tjinc.
And yes, this largely falls on the wishlist margins of the forum.

Edit: somewhat off-topic, but this is the ideal kind of detailed info we'd want to have on the Wiki too.
I don't think it's been updated since Psychoadept last worked on it (whom btw I haven't seen on the forum in a bit and I hope he's alright).

You can lock a static playlist ('lock' button on playlist header or right-click on playlist name > Lock Playlist)

This does prevent dragging of tracks to a different position in the playlist and prevents changing the manual order of tracks +++. It also prevents deletion of the playlist. You can still sort the playlist tracks by clicking on a column header (but you cannot update the playlist order).

The OP is correct in that it does not prevent deletion of tracks from within the playlist and I agree that it does seem like something it should do.

Not sure if this should be a wishlist request rather than a bug report though.

when a playlist is locked, the order can't be changed but pressing delete will still delete it. this should be probably be prevented as well
Not able to test it right now, but if what you say is true, then I'm inclined to agree with you there.
A locked playlist shouldn't permit the removal of songs within that playlist.
(unless maybe it's a removal from both the library and computer too).

Interesting. I now see that it's on static playlists only. And I've never noticed it before. Thanks Mayibongwe.

As far as I can recall, there is no method to lock a playlist other than by the method I described. If you are referring to something else, please post a screenshot showing exactly where this lock is.
I can't remember if it's on a static or auto playlist, but one of the two has a lock button near the settings on a playlist header.
I haven't played around with it before to see what it locks and what it doesn't.

Questions / Move to Organised Folder AND Remove From Library = Possible?

Is it possible to uncheck the Add To Library box when I auto-organise my files? It's greyed out.

Reason:
I use a PC to buy, download, tag, and sort my music, in the inbox.
I delete those I'd never play, the other's once tagged I use the Move to Organised Folder and Add to Library.
I audition these files on any PC or Phone etc. for those I wish to use with my DJ Controller. The files reside on my always on music PC.

Some of those file I wish to keep but would never DJ with, these files I use a button to fire off Move To Organised folder, copying these files to my home server.
And I would like to remove them from the Library on my Music PC as part of the automated process.

(The files are copied to my home server into a monitored folder with the MB instance that runs on the home server for everyone in the house's music)
