Amazingly the video provided by @MrVain712 helped, thanks for that.

But for Phones without an SD Card it's a bit more  work than in the Video.

After I installed the Mixplorer app (paid form the store, no idea about the description version) i had to do the following:
1. Turn on the Document provider from the Mixplorer settigs
2. Long click on my Music folder in Mixplorer and use the menu to add it to "Home"  and to Favorites (i think home is enough but i did both at the same time so not quite sure which one worked.)
3. restart my phone
4. start Musicbee wifi sync and klicked on sync. Now i had a menu icon on the top left (was not there before the restart and activation of document provider)
5. klick directly on music form the provided mixplorer Options and add it as a folder.

This worked on my Pixel 6A with Android 14 and the patched apk from two pages back.

it's the tags which have been successfully registered. find lines which start with "Can't add..." somewhere in the log to see which tags (tag names will be repeated) are duplicated. plugin treats all tag names independently of case.

go to mb menu> edit> prefs> tags (2)> configure fields. check that all tag names are unique in the "override label" column.

don't use skin coloring. for now, this option works with light skins only. i'm working on better support of this option now.

I don't use tabs in the lower title bar so I didn't see it, I try to keep it as clean as possible.
The lines on the track were a great idea.
I couldn't find the difference between an active and an inactive tab. I'll keep looking, but I managed to make the titles darker.
I have many limitations regarding language, but little by little I understand it because you explained it very well. Thanks.
Let me know if you have any problems, I'm constantly learning. its good for me since I'm focusing on a darker theme.

Thanks so much, frankz! I was easily able to identify all of the files with more than one embedded picture. It took a few minutes to remove the extra picture from a couple hundred files, but it was easy. The best news is that now the metadata is correctly displayed in my car. Much appreciated.

If you go to a view with all of your files listed, you can go to Tools->Artwork->Album Artwork Manager.  It will take a while to scan them depending on how many files there are.  There is a column for "Count" You can sort on this and the column for "Picture Location" (embedded will indicate as such).

Is there a way in MusicBee to filter for files that have more than one embedded picture? My car's built-in music player reports "unknown artist" for many songs that have artist data in the file. I think I have narrowed this problem down to the fact that these are the files that have multiple pictures embedded within them, and I would like to delete all but the main album artwork picture.
