MusicBee Wishlist / Re: CD Burning
« on: September 24, 2010, 10:14:01 PM »

From my point of view CD-burning is not vital for MB.
There are a lot of top quality tools on the market for that purpose even in the freeware and open source corner.

I think it would be better to concentrate on the core features of MB if - what I guess is the case - Steven's time for developing is limited.

MusicBee Wishlist / Please change press return-key-behaviour in editing mode
« on: September 23, 2010, 12:24:20 PM »
When editing the tags of a song it often happens to me that I close the edit window by pressing the return key unintentionally.

This happens when I begin to put in e.g. the name of an artist and the list with the names of artists names with the same beginning letters appears.

When one chooses an artist name from the list via arrow -down- key and presses the return-key to choose the right name from the list the complete edit window is closed.

I think that in this case only the chosen  list entry should be inserted in the artist field without closing the edit window.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Increase the witdth of the progressive bar
« on: September 20, 2010, 07:12:07 PM »
are you referring to when the player is docked in the right sidebar?

... no, the player and the progress bar are at the bottom of the MB window.
If you like I send you a screenshot via PM.
I have already tested if this may depend on the skin that is used but it stays the same no matter which skin I use.

MusicBee Wishlist / Increase the witdth of the progressive bar
« on: September 20, 2010, 06:19:36 PM »
It would be nice to have a broader progress bar (the line which shows how long the current song is playing).

I find it sometimes a bit difficult to hit the bar with the mouse cursor because it's width is only 3 pixels which is very small when using a monitor with a high resolution.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: permanently deleting files in autoplaylists too
« on: September 17, 2010, 06:58:07 PM »
Adson, you would only be able to permanently delete the file when deleting from an auto-playlist as the files in an auto-playlist are included by a filter criteria

I am not sure that I understand what you mean. My simple idea was that I can delete every file which is shown in a playlist or in other lists in MB. I am aware the difference between removing from a list and physically deleting a file. My wish was to have both options.

MusicBee Wishlist / Option to remove plugins
« on: September 17, 2010, 06:52:05 PM »
It would be nice to have the possibility to remove DSP plugins. Currently it is possible to add plugins but once installed it is not possible to remove them without deleting them manually in the plugin folder.

MusicBee Wishlist / permanently deleting files in autoplaylists too
« on: September 16, 2010, 12:27:50 PM »
-- However if you would like to have the functionaity to permanently delete the file, could you add this to the wishlist --

Hi Steven,

here I am. A short explanation why this is IMHO useful: I tag all songs that I don't like with 1 star. Then I have an autoplaylist which shows only songs with 1 star.
In this way I can get rid of all unwanted songs in a convenient way.
Another example is an autoplaylist which contains all songs from one artist. If I find duplicates in this playlist I like to have the possibility to delete them permanently.

I think the best way is to let the user decide if he or she wants to remove the song from the playlist or delete it permanently.

Thank you, I have found it.

BTW: Is it possible to change the font size used in this panel?

It would be convenient to have an artist-tree view in the left panel. This tree should have the artist's name as first node and under that album names and at least song names.
I think it would be easier and more clear to browse through your artist, albums and songs this way.

Skins / Re: Darker Skin
« on: August 26, 2010, 12:48:39 PM »

... it's my favourite MB skin! Thank you very much.

Is it possible to change the font color of the font that is used for displaying the path to the current song? (The one in the middle of the upper margin)

Currently the font is black and the background is dark grey so that it is not readable very good.

its already in 1.2.3887 in the downloads topic on this forum

Hi Steven,

I can see the Mini Player in the Win 7 Taskbar but cannot see the rating of the song nor can I rate the song via the Mini Player.
The buttons for stop, pause, previous and next work fine, but no rating.

its done for the next update, using 'show rating in MiniPlayer [and windows 7 taskbar]' in the Layout preferences

... simply great! I'm looking forward for the next version.

Hey Adson, I do the rating of songs playing in the background (not focussed MB) by using (global) HOTKEYs. You can set them up in the preferences page.

WIN + 1 = One star
WIN + 2 = Two stars
and so on...

Thanks for your suggestion, I will try out that.

MusicBee Wishlist / Improved rating display of selected songs
« on: August 11, 2010, 12:50:40 PM »
When selecting on ore more songs it is - depending on the current skin - sometimes difficult to see with how many stars a song is rated. The reason for this is, that different from normal view, all five stars are displayed when a song is selected in the browser. Since the contrast between stars and "non stars" sometimes is a bit low its difficult to distinguish between them. I think a better solution would be to make the "non stars" invisible like in normal view.

I am almost ready to change from Media Monkey to Music Bee. There is only one thing I really miss.

In Media Monkey you can rate the current song via the minimized program window ( in Win 7) on the bottom of the screen. You find there controls for play/stop next/previous song AND a display of the five possible stars for rating. So you don't have to leave the current window of the application you currently work in.

I think this is a very convenient feature and it should be not too difficult to add to Music Bee. Apart from that I like MB very much. Keep on the good work  :)

PS If you like, I can send you a screeshot with the mentioned function in Media Monkey
