Hey nishi2x4,

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the exact same problem. I know it's not a major deal, but it is habitual to simply left click a taskbar icon to minimize and Musicbee is the only app on my PC that won't do it.
TIA

Oops..now I've gone and done it  :o

I tried to reinstall my previous version of MB. The view went wonky..it's cuts off the top of MB screen and I have to press ALT to bring up the top menu panel and I can't access the maximise/minimise butons either Also it's cut off the bottom of MB screen too. I can't access the "now playing" and "recently added" tabbed views there either. I then reinstalled the latest version but it' s still the same lol. Help !  :-[

Argg..OK, I've completely stuffed it now. Done a fresh install of latest version. Seem to have lost all my previous saved layouts and library filters. Oh well, I was probably due a whole new makeover anyway.

Ah, ok redwing...thanks for that and hopefully it gets sorted back to the way it was.
Mauser69 - yes, my tagging was the same..using "&" in the album artist field for display purposes on Squeezebox Touch and the semi-colon to separate artists in the sort album artist field (and flip the surname to the front so that Brian Eno comes under E )

Questions / Multiple Artist Albums

I've only recently updated to latest version. I was on an earlier version of 3 before.
Previously when I pressed on an artist on the "Sort Album Artist" vertical scroll panel it would bring up all albums asociated with that album in the main panel. Now when I do that it only brings up the solo albums.

For example, Brian Eno. In the vertical scroll panel it clearly says 16 albums, but when I click on it only the 12 solo albums come up. And when i scroll down that "Sort Album Artist" panel there sems no way to access his joint albums. Beforehand, the Album "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts" would have appeared under Eno, Brian and also Byrne, David but now I can't even access that album by scrolling down that panel. What am I doing wrong?

Questions / Playlists.. can I see which ones a particular song is on?
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:19:05 PM »
Hi,
I remember when I used Mediamonkey a few years back, when u clicked on song info it showed u all the different playlists the song was on. Is there a similar feature in Musicbee?

Yes, I agree it would look nicer with that option. After all, there's no real reason to want "Stewart, Rod" displayed anywhere on the screen. It's only use is for hidden sorting.
Thanks again for your time  :-)

Ah, ok. I right clicked on that Album Artist  heading and it gave me an option to custom sort, which I did to "Sort Album Artist/Year/Album". I presumed that would over-ride the order in that column but it seems not?

Ok, I've now selected "Sort Album Artist" as a new heading. Stewart, Rod appears correctly in the "S" names.  Is there any way to makes it say Rod Stewart on the library explorer too? I thought Sort Album Artist was purely a field for ordering and not display, at least that's how the Squeezebox Touch views it?

Here's the Tag(2) fields. First Tag tab has Artist and Album Artist set to Rod Stewart and u can see his placement in Library Explorer

Questions / "Sort artist" & "Sort album artists" fields
« on: February 22, 2016, 10:44:40 PM »
Hi,
I changed my Artist and Album Artist fields so that the description looks better on Squeezebox Touch...eg "Rod Stewart" instead of "Stewart, Rod".
I used the "Sort Artist" and "Sort album artist" fields with the value "Stewart, Rod" in order to keep this artist sorted under S. It now works great on Squeezebox Touch and appears in the order-

Sufjan Stevens
Rod Stewart
Stills

On MB, I've changed the Album Artist sort order on Library Explorer to  "Sort Album Artist/Year/Album" but old Rod is appearing under the R's for some reason -

Robinson, Smokey (haven't changed name order yet)
Rod Stewart
Rolling Stones

This should be pretty easy but I don't see where I'm going wrong? Anybody know a fix?

MB 2.5.5524

Questions / Re: Sorting albums released the same year by same artist
« on: June 17, 2015, 01:01:00 PM »
You can add the month of release to the year field, or if you don't know that then just put in 01 for the album you know was released first and 02 for second etc.

for example-

1978-01
1978-02

Thanks for that Steven  :D
I'm running MusicBee on a low powered eeebox Atom pc and I think this update will greatly benefit similar users. When scrolling in "Album and tracks" view there was always a slight delay in the artwork appearing which is now gone.  In "Artwork" view there is now only a very very slight delay when scrolling fast through the album covers. (25k files)

Perfect  ;D
I didn't realise it updated the exported playlists on-the-fly.

I've been using MusicBee for organizing my music for the last few years (since Mediamonkey became too bloated) and it's just great.
Steven, it's taken me far too long to make a donation, so I've finally done one tonight to say thanks for your efforts.

Steven, that's the format for the exported playlists only tho?
That's fine if I right click on one of my playlists and export to the format of my choice. But what happens if I make changes to the original playlist? Do I have to right click and export it again every time a change is made or is the exported playlist automatically updated to be kept in sync with the original. That would be pretty cool if it does it behind the scenes

Thanks guys  8)
I see exporting to m3u(#ext) also restores the missing first track.
Hmm.. i've got 80 or so playlists I've got to remove the first dummy track from now LOL  :-[
On the other hand, I like the way LMS just picks up my current MB playlists without having to export to a different format. Shame I can't just create playlists as m3u(#ext) or PLS instead of just m3u in MB
