Questions / Re: Second deck or file player through secondary output
« on: July 31, 2019, 11:16:34 PM »
Nope.. haven't found a post that covers what I wish for.. a plugin for MB that allows me to preview a song while another is already playing.. within the same software.  I can drag and drop files from MB to a few programs but I can not find a lightweight player (playlist-only, basically) that shows playlist with all the fields that I was to display (song, artist, genre, time, composer are minimum).  So if all can be done within MB 100% better.

Does the coding support someone smart writing an addon that allows this?

Plugins / Re: MusicBee Remote (Remote Control for Android)

Thank you for the remote.  I have been missing a remote for years but have just been lamenting the lack of a hardware-based remote, but here we have a software solution.

It just takes a while to (re)connect to the player again once my phone's screen goes dark...

Questions / Second deck or file player through secondary output
« on: July 30, 2019, 09:15:18 PM »

I have been using Musicbee for a long time but I have always had to use another program at the same time to prelisten to songs I want to play.. Mediamonkey can read my Musicbee exported playlists so I go there to choose files and then back to musicbee to finalize my selections, but I would like to do everything within Musicbee.

Someone had made a plugin for Mediamonkey but I did not care for how it worked nor do I like the entire program as much as I like Musicbee.. this lack of preview within is the only thing missing from this software.  None of the dual deck DJ softwares have library and playlist functions as MB has.

MIXXX player has a cute preview function.. there is a button next to each song that then feeds the song to the preview player which is set to output #2 when the main player is set to output #1.  I can not use the program as it does not have a playlist column that automatically plays the next song on the list, as MM and MB (and WMP, etc) have.

Help appreciated

Questions / Dual deck or preview play function
« on: July 11, 2016, 11:19:43 PM »

I have been furiously searching for a software that plays music the way I need it to play. I play old dance music, not new (think close to ballroom).
I have been using Musicbee for many years now but I have to use another program (mediamonkey) at the same time to handle my preview. Problem is, the playlists do not speak to each other nor do they update in any kind of live manner.  I end up exporting my playlist many times through out the night to get to the same songs in the same sequence on the MM.

What I need/want:

-Computer file manager to browse to different folders and to open various pre-made playlists from which to drag songs to the active playlist (this functions well in MB)
-The main deck that is fed from the Now Playing playlist
-A second deck to preview songs or a preview feature (Mixxx dj software has a preview mode and there is no need to drag files, just click on preview button, fantastic feature! ; you assign main output to be the external soundcard, for example, and the preview to be the internal soundcard, which is connected to the headset)
-An active playlist (Now Playing). The playlist that feeds songs to Deck 1 that play automatically for as long as there are songs left on the playlist or until a button is pressed. This already works nicely in MB.

Basically I am looking for Musicbee but with a Preview function - a deck or player to pipe music through the channel I have chosen and the preview into the headset.

Question is: Has someone modified MB to have a dual play feature or a preview feature?

Mixxx has all except the Now Playing feature. I have circled the preview player.. click on the preview symbol next to any song and that song starts playing in the preview player whilst the deck is doing what the deck is doing.

ClubDJPro looked to have these functions but maybe the software had a flop launch? It also has video control which I don't need.

MusicBee Wishlist / Right-click edit without a pop-out window
« on: February 11, 2013, 11:23:26 AM »
I am missing, now with MB and previously with MMonkey, the ability to change the values of a single file or infinite number of selected files at once, with just a right click, without it opening a window.  If I right-click over genre of say 10 highlighted songs, I wish to be able to change that genre right there.  Now regardless of where I click edit, it opens the screen that is saved to the last view-tab, too; it doesn't even take me to the value position of the item I wish to edit, based on where along the screen (over which column) I clicked edit.

In short.. I wish to select a file or as many as I wish, right click over for example genre column, one of the lines/boxes becomes editable, I type in the new value, hit enter, and the same value propagates to all selected files' same column.  Windows media player 10 still allows for this (in XP).
