I haven't had a go yet with bitmap skins, but if I would have to guess I would say you don't [edit XMLC files].
They are complied by the skin creator tool, so you'll need the original images in order to make a change.

But like I said this is just a guess, You should PM Blinghound, I'm sure he'll know.

Hey cartman,

In a really hurry here and don't have much time to check this thoroughly, so sorry if this isn't what you asked about:
I think what you're after is the FG colors on elements: "Content[TrackDetail].Body.Default" and "Content[TrackDetail].ListAlternating.Default" or maybe "Content[TrackDetail].ListAlternating.Disabled".

Enter "Skinning Guide" at the forums' search engine. part 3 isn't finished, and alot of things have been added since (some are at the new skin elements thread) but it's a good place to start from.

Is it possible to set the player display before the volume slider?

I like it! the one thing that feels 'off' to me is the player panel. like you said, having no control on the alignment and order of the panel does hurt the interface a bit.

Maybe Steven can come up with some way to allow that control. If you'd like you can ask for it in the wish list forum or just PM him.

maybe it's completely impossible to acheive with a skin

I don't think it's that far off. you can get something that's very close to it, with skins.

Not before the end of the year. I intentionally waited with the bmp switch to allow the rendering engine tool to mature a bit more before going at it.

Well, if you're feeling adventurous then yeah, absolutely.

Download 'Pop Blue', a "Dependent Skin" that has only the lines of code needed for changing the pink colors around the skin, into blue.

You might want to look at the Skinning guide - Part 1, but the job is pretty straightforward and the file is well organized, so it's easy to change the highlight to any color you'd like.

And if you run any problem feel free to ask.

Best of luck,
Rotem

Hey Kyle,

Just about the buttons and thier code, try opening each image in paint.net, copy it to a new canvas and save it.
Check the file sizes before and after, if the file size is smaller, the code you'll get from Base64 will be much shorter as well.

This also fixes some weird size issue using pngs saved in photoshop.

Hi man,

Running it on Windows 7, There's no visible blue highlight anywhere, nor is there anything in the code that sets the menus' highlight color to blue. maybe an OS derived color or something like that.

There is a problem though with one of the image elements in the file, causing MusicBee to run out of memory and crash as soon as it loads it up. might require you to check them one by one to find which one is the problem.

Best of luck,

Hi dannyboiii,

1. if you're using photoshop, try opening each image in paint.net, copy it to a new canvas. and save it.
2. The last.fm love icon.
3. It derives from the fg color on element "Panel.SectionHeader.Default".

Good Luck with your new skin, looks great

I think it's "Panel.TabSelector.Default".
