Any time!

And so you'll know, last night Steven added elements for those browser control buttons:

i've added these 2 elements for the buttons - its in the next update
  <element id="Panel.HeaderButtonOverride.Default" fg="235,25,135" />
  <element id="Panel.HeaderButtonOverride.Disabled" fg="25,125,235" />

So next update you can have those changed as well.

Add those to the end of the color elements:
<!-- 79-->  <element id="Player.StarRating.Default" fg="200,200,200" />
<!-- 80-->  <element id="Player.StarRating.Lowlight" fg="70,70,70" />

Lowlight colors the unselected stars, and default colors the selected stars.

That's amazing, thanks Steven!

1. No setting that I know of, unhighlighted empty rating don't show up in MusicBee.
2. Currently there isn't any element that effect those buttons.
3. Check the skin file, are there any StarRating elements at the end of the color elements? if so, try changing those.

Sorry, no element to change those.

If it's important to you, you can always PM Steven about it or ask for it in the 'Wishlist' forum.

Try changing the FG color on element "Menu.CommandButton.Default".

Be aware that that element also effects the menu in the track properties window [shift+enter, window has to be floating].

And thanks guys for the comments, I appreciate it.

Yeah! This is absolutely brilliant! And I agree with Rotem and Steven; the background (image or color) should be user selectable, I assume this is very important since everyone have different resolutions on their desktops, hence the need for different resolution images?

EDIT: Rather than resolutions, people have different aspect ratios.

Right, Steven, what resolution / ratio do you need the background image to be?

My suggestion: http://i.imgur.com/ys7jh.jpg

Would be sweet if the background image could be set from the preferences menu.

And I would love to see this feature implemented, if any help with graphics is needed let me know.

You're looking for element "Panel.StarRating.Default".
FG controls the highlighted/selected stars color, FG2 controls the lowlight/background stars.

Best of luck,

It is confusing at first. don't give up.

Changing to pink or red or any striking color will help a lot, and if you can't find that pink part after the reload, just leave it, work on the next part, when you'll post your skin someone might find it and drop you a line here on the forum.

Another method of finding elements is by cutting the code in two. if the element part is still showing in the same color cut the code again, till you find a half that has that line of code within it.

If there's an element that you have no idea what effect it has on the interface or a GUI part you want to changed but can't find it's element no matter what, just ask on the forum, most chances somebody else has already struggled with the same problem.

And about bitmap skins, check the SteelAndBee skin's thread by Colagen. the first post has a link to the source files, which will give you a good start on skinning with images.

One last tip I can give you, is to get the portable version and work on your skins there. that way you can listen to your library while skinning without disruption. Just check the new skin changes in the portable, and keep the music playing on the installed app.

Hi Analien,

assuming you want to make a bitmap based skin, you can get the SkinCreator tool here: http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3834.0.

If you need any info on the very basics of skinning, search the forum for "Skinning Guide" [the guides don't have any info on bitmap skins tho].

Best of luck,
Rotem
