Not to make things even more confusing, but you can also create an auto-playlist of your preferred genre or if you wish all music with a rule of "playcount is 0".

You can then right-click on the playlist and select "Play Shuffled" when a track is played it's then removed from the playlist.

This is only for those who have no interest in play counts.

I'd have sworn blind I'd ticked it. You even explain about the semi-colons in that second post.

No, I'm not using Picard for my genres, I'm using RYM and inputting manually. I haven't got around to that release yet is all.

Here, take a look. I will be adding genres to this as just Hardcore isn't correct but it shows the semi-colons. Not that it should make any difference but I didn't use a virtual tag, just pasted your code a track information field.

Hi Hiccup,

Regarding your update in post 2 for the virtual tag to display the genres, I've had bash at using it but it seems if there's only a single genre then a bunch of semi-colons are displayed. I'm assuming this isn't by design?

Hi Sparkles (something I never thought I would ever type!), the only time I've ever have any issue ripping from CD is when I start Musicbee before inserting a CD into the drive. In that case the rip window opens but no content displays... a restart of Musicbee sorts that.

Hi Bcsball,

You can create a highlight rule "Edit > Edit Preferences > Tags (2)" and click the highlighting: Define rules button, that states "Play Count is greater than 0", then just display a column showing the highlight.

Wouldn't the Additional Tagging Tools be able to do this? I use the sort performers preset, I don't know how difficult it would be to create an additional preset for different tags.

The OP has an interesting way to add artwork and perhaps I'm misunderstanding the issue. I do the same as Phred regarding adding art locally rather than downloading, right-click on the album in question and edit, then right-click choose picture in the artwork window. When the relevant file is selected, isn't the option the OP is after available?

Hi frakuaku,

I'm pretty sure titles are shown, if you select a song rather than the album. As you can see the title is different across 10 items as you would expect.

Can't really help with the replay gain, it looks though as if one track doesn't have replay gain, as stated.
