Questions / Loved tracks disappearing
« on: August 16, 2022, 10:49:15 AM »
Hi!
Some (but not all) of my loved tracks are 'unloved' again the next day I open up musicbee. I don't know why that is I can see in last.fm that they're still loved.
And it's not all tracks doing this either. This's been going on for years and I didn't cared about it too much since they're loved in last.fm after all, but now I want to incorporate the 'loved' marker in my sorting of auto playlists...so I need musicbee to correctly mark tracks as loved.

What could be the issue here? I've tried removing and reinstalling the module/extension/whatever it's called and login again but to no avail...

Edit: Assuming this'll work out, how do I go about my custom sorting with different combinations of ratings and loved status:
5 star + loved
4.5 stars+ loved
4.5 stars
4 stars and loved
4 stars
etc.

I've been experimenting with virtual tags but I've no idea what the syntax (if/and) is.

Ok a bit strange it happens nearly always but at least I now know it's outside the programs control.

Not sure this is a bug but what the heck is this?
I literally can't change my library!

Questions / Re: Can't connect to Last.fm
« on: January 13, 2021, 10:01:21 AM »
+1 on this, exactly the same situation.

The plugin worked correctly before, but I had to reinstall MusicBee on a clean Windows install, and it stopped scrobbling. I have re-checked login details several times, re-installed MusicBee, everything.

Latest MusicBee, Windows 10 20H2.

What I did to fix it, is go to my account settings, find MusicBee in the "Applications" tab, and clicked "Disconnect".

I then re-connected inside MusicBee, and it started to scrobble correctly.

Just want to say this solved the issue I had too (I changed my last.fm username).

Questions / Managing Duplicates
« on: November 22, 2020, 06:32:03 PM »
Hi,
Are there some preference or tweak I can make so that I take action on a duplicate file that is the newest in the library (or even better the file I first listened to) - rather than the oldest?

For instance I have music file A, that I've listened to, rated it and it's in my playlists. I then listen to a compilation that happens to include file A again (or rather, the same song/artist) - if I manage duplicates, all actions will be made on the original file, not the newest. I hate this! Because then I have to rate the newer file again, instead of just deleting it.

Is there a solution to this problem? Can't find any option in duplicate manager to handle the newest file, not the oldest.
Maybe this isn't even a problem for anyone other than me?

There we go. That's precisely what I was asking for. Thanks for the help!

Questions / Re: Save tracks in auto-playlist

Well this is what I'm doing at the moment, manually picking folders (not the entire library) to sync as well as the static playlist. So I have to basically structure my folders after playlists and reshuffle files inside those folders. I don't want to do that.

You don't need to do that if the tracks you want are already in an auto playlist. Just select the playlist to sync, MusicBee will take care of the rest.

I use Resilio sync. Is there a Musicbee tool for syncing files with external devices?

This sounds like you're making it more complicated than it needs to be. If you just select the playlist(s) you want to sync in the sync settings (not "all music" or any folders), then only those files will be synced. The playlist is too, but that shouldn't make much difference.

Is there some reason that won't work for you?

Questions / Save tracks in auto-playlist
« on: November 09, 2020, 04:50:24 PM »
Hi,
I sync music files in my PC with my phone. They're getting too many for my microSD so I want to reduce it to only having files in my auto playlists.
What I'm wondering now if there's a function/smart-method to save/export all the tracks in my auto playlists to, for instance, a separate folder that I can later sync?

Right now I sync big chunks of folders at a time, many containing tracks that aren't in an auto playlist because they have too low rating (what my auto playlists are primarily based on). The auto playlist itself isn't synced of course but a static export of it; I look at what's in there and sync my folders based on that. What I want is to also auto-export the files themselves and not just the playlist. Would be awesome and save allot of data (and time) for me  :D

Thanks for answering!

Questions / Re: bass.dll / Musicbee notworking

Ok thought I'd put just the installer in 'C:\'. Reinstalled now in 'C:\', same problem.

It sounds like you are using the "Installer" version, not the "Portable" one.  Uninstall every MusicBee instance you have.  Then, download the Portable version from this link:  https://www.mediafire.com/file/aclnp3sdzb9yn94/MusicBeePortable_3_3_Update1.zip/file .

Don't install it yet.  First make a folder yourself called "MusicBee" directly on your C: drive, like C:\MusicBee.  Then, unzip the portable package, run the exe inside, and point it to "C:\MusicBee" when it asks where you want to put it.

I did just that. Copied all bass.dll from my home PC. That doesn't fix this issue either :(

Download and use the portable. Be sure to place the portable version in something like C:\MusicBee and -not- into a Windows UAC directory.

Hi,
So I installed portable version like you said and didn't' get the error after installation. But it's still the same problem.

UI doesn't load correctly, no player, can't play external music files either. On my previous W7 Work PC (with the same security), I had no problems.

Edit: Opened preferences, went to player then got this:

Questions / bass.dll / Musicbee notworking
« on: October 22, 2019, 07:17:20 AM »
Hi this is no actual bug but,
On my work computer, Avecto/McAfee/somethingelse is blocking bass.dll I think. Musicbee doesn't work, can't play anything regardless of Windows store edition or Installer.
I get this error message (in swedish unfortunately)

What to do? I don't have Admin rights to close those 'security apps' and don't think requesting this to IT-support will be productive.
