MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Expandable View in the Artwork layout

Thanks gents! I use 01, 02, 03 etc. for disc numbers in tags, so it doesn't look as good. Would it be possible to add "Disc 1", "Disc 2" etc. as separator options that aren't reliant on tag info? I don't really want to have to edit all of the tags of my multi-disc albums, but it looks good when those separators are used in the expandable view, as in scampbll's screenshot in post #140.

@scampbll - How come it says "Disc 1" and "Disc 2" in your screenshot? Mine just has a blank line between discs. Is there a setting somewhere for that?

I have a 2 CD album with 40 tracks on it. Here's how it displays in the expandable view: -

http://i.imgur.com/omvNQw9.jpg

The first 2 columns have 11 tracks in them, but the third only has 10, then the fourth has the remaining 8.

How come it displays like this rather than the first three columns having 11 tracks each, with the final column having the remaining 7?

I've found a bug in the latest version.

I was playing a track and I went to double-click on a different track in the expanded view to play it, but I clicked too slow so that it thought I wanted to rename the track. I clicked on a different track and an error popped up. It's repeatable every time.

Error details: -

EDIT - The same issue occurs in 5243 released today.

EDIT - The bug also occurs if you click slowly twice on a track in the expanded view to rename it, then just press Enter on your keyboard.

There's a new bug in the latest version.

If you're using Artwork view and you are on a screen where there's only a few albums, so there's a lot of blank space, if you double-click anywhere in that blank space you get this: -

Thanks! That appears to fix all the issues I was having.

the numbering for queued files is normal and expected when you have shuffle enabled and queue tracks.
For the other issues,  i expect you have "play selected files only" or "queue next and play now" enabled in the Now Playing preferences which needs to be corrected. If not then let me know
I have "clear list and play selected tracks only" selected. It works fine in 5229 and all previous versions, but as soon as I upgrade to 5332 it breaks and plays the entire album starting with track 1, even though I'm double-clicking on a single track that isn't track 1.

Here's a video with a commentary where I show the bug in action. This explains it a lot better: -

It's only about 90 seconds long, so please watch it.

One last post on this: -

Yesterday I made a system image of my PC. I just tried deleting the MusicBee installation folder and replacing it with the one from my system image and all of the bugs mentioned above disappear, but if I then delete the MusicBee installation folder and put the other one back, all of the bugs come back and this functionality in MusicBee is quite broken, even after restarting the PC.

EDIT - It appears that this bug is present in 2.4.5232. The version in my system image was 2.4.5229 which works perfectly, but as soon as I download the latest update zip file and update to 2.4.5232, all of the bugs I mentioned above come back.

In fact, doing the above appears to have broken this functionality quite badly.

If I do this: -

1. Single click on an album to open the expanded view.

2. Double-click on any track other than track 1.

It loads the entire album into the Now Playing list and starts playing track 1.

If I right-click on a track and choose "Play Now", it reloads the entire album into the Now Playing list and starts playing track 1.

If I right-click on a track and choose "Queue Next", the track queues up next, except it has a little "1" icon to the left of it, like this: -

I've found another bug in this. Here's how to replicate it: -

1. In Artwork view, double-click on an album to start playing it.

2. In the Now Playing list on the right, double-click on any of the later tracks to start playing it.

3. In the expanded view, double-click on any track other than track 1 to try and play it.

When you do step 3, it always plays track 1, no matter which track you double-click on. I think it's registering the double-click in the same way it would as if you'd double-clicked on the album cover to play the entire album.

The bug in action: -

You can see that double-clicking on any song just starts track 1 playing from the beginning again.

Sure, here you go: -

26/04/2014 20:12:45 - row height=41,pic={X=1621,Y=11,Width=280,Height=280},rowy1=83
26/04/2014 20:12:45 - rowy2=645,266,cols:660,availw=1599,rc=14
26/04/2014 20:12:45 - rowy2=358,266,cols:990,availw=1599,rc=7
26/04/2014 20:12:45 - rowy2=235,266,cols:1320,availw=1599,rc=4
26/04/2014 20:12:45 - fullr=4,rc=4,#tracks=13,colcount=3

Presumably the issue is with "colcount=3" as there's 4 columns, not 3, and it's the 4th one where track 13 is that's messed up.

what font are you using? and if you hover the mouse over the album cover in the right panel or tag editor, what dimensions does the picture have?

There's 2 affected albums that I've found so far. In one case, the album art is 400 x 400. In the other it's 1,200 x 1,200.

I'm not sure where I find out what font I'm using, but the only setting I changed in that respect is under Layout (2) where "use custom font" is set to Segoe UI (12 point).

I can upload one of the affected albums if you like, then you can add it to your own library and see what happens. It only affects various artist albums (where the track artist names are displayed) that have exactly 13 tracks.
