Just to cover the basics, have you selected these files and rescanned them?

Yes this didn't work, but this time what worked was to rescan the folders again, although this was able to fix the problem this time i faced this problem 3 more times this week and the only way to fix the problem was to convert the tags to id3v2.3. Then i convert them back to ID3v2.4 within Musicbee.

Musicbee does not read tags from some mp3 files when they use the ID3v2.4 (files tags have been edited in Mp3tag)

PM me for a file link.

Questions / Wave Bar on the mini player
« on: July 03, 2020, 06:28:32 PM »
Is it possible to replace the usual track length line with the Wave Bar on the mini player?

34
its currently capped at 5, but for the next update I have bumped that up to 10

Thanks for the update Steven, appreciated. 👏👏
Is it possible in a future update to add a setting to manipulate the number of the rows?

35
There's definitely not a setting for that. I'm not sure what controls it.

I didn't find any setting for this either. The behavior of this though is a bit weird sometimes more rows are showing up, sometimes less.
I would be a nice addition if we could manipulate the number of the rows, at least it could make my life easier when i try to fill the comment tags.

36
I Assume that this is not possible because i didn't get any answer.

Hi i would like to know if it's possible to add more rows (to show more options) to the inline tag edit "pop up" window.

Questions / Re: Is there any way to quickly convert tags to ID3v2.4
« on: June 08, 2020, 06:22:15 PM »
If you edit one track yes.
But if you batch edit many files this doesn't work

I see that you're right about that.

A little trick to circumvent that:
Select all files, in Tag Editor select a tag field that you are not using and/or presently has no content, type anything there, and save.
Then all files will be converted to 2.4.
After that you can easily delete what you had entered in the unused field.

This works, but i hoped for something faster.

I wrote to Boroda to see if he can add this function to Additional Tagging Tools.

Hi Boroda,

Any chance to add a function to convert ID3 tags from v2.3 to v2.4?

If you have set MusicBee to use v2.4 all you need to do is re-save the files.

If you edit one track yes.

But if you batch edit many files this doesn't work

Hi,

Is there any way to quickly convert tags to ID3v2.4, for example through Tagging Tools or Advanced Tagging Tools?

42
There's a command in the Tools menu that will show missing files. It's called "show dead links".

This was well hidden... ;D
Thanks for the help!!!

Do you have a use for the v1 tags? Almost everything supports at least v2.3, which has been around since 1999.

I don't, I remove them now (most of the times, when i remember to) but many DJ Pools (Where i get my files from most of the times) are also writing V1 tags to their files and this is very messy.
Mostly because there are times i forget to remove them and also because of my older files.
One other problem is that in some old files v1 contains Genre for example but v2 doesn't, so removing v1 tags from those old files is not option.

Mp3tag has a nice "feature", you can choose what type of tags is displaying/reading. This would be a nice addition to Musicbee.

45
Preferences > Tags (1) > tag storage > save MP3 tags as: choose from dropdown

Hi thanks for the help.
I'am aware of this but is this option about which tags musicbee is reading and showing? I think is not because musicbee still prefers to show ID3v1 over ID3v2 if both are existing on a file.
