MusicBee Wishlist / Re: ALBUM VIEW: Fill picture
« on: June 29, 2022, 09:35:20 AM »
Thanks ch1v35 for posting about this.  I had a post about a half year ago, asking for a similar function, and figured this is a good chance to push for it again.  To avoid distortion, I suggested just centering the images and filling the background with a solid color *based off of the image itself* or even have all of them the same color, but definitely as mentioned before it should be an optional feature.  I feel your OCD here.  Here's the thread I made with the examples of how I thought it might be doable. @phred - I agree I should have started something like this years ago when the collection was manageable. (approaching 1 million songs, and have tons of special video game music / anime stuff that love to not have square dimensions.

@Mr. Trev - yeah I actually have infranview for some simple context menu conversions or resizes.  I'll look into what you've said, and see if that will somehow work on my layout.  Thanks guys

Thank you for the reply phred!  That is definitely a solution, but my collection is quite large, and this would be a pretty massive undertaking.  But it's good to know there is an option if it comes to that!

It's hard to explain what I'd love to see, so I made a picture to kind of explain it.  My ideal world would be that it would center any non "square" album art and fill in the dead space w/ a color from the album art, similar to how musicbee fills in the track list based on the album art.  If it would be too much work, I get it.
Just my OCD talking! (and if this already exists and I'm just blind, I'm ready to learn)

Small follow up after getting the issue to repeat itself (not always coming up).  The URLs are referring to the original location of the file before being moved.  And the new locations of said file are in the musicbee library, but until i rescan them, they have incomplete info like this.

This is a tiny thing, but it's been bothering me for a while.  When I sort albums from my Inbox and send them to the library through a move command, occasionally the next time I open up Musicbee I'll have the albums in the inbox as "unknown" and 0 tracks.  The Album art that it associates them with is the only clue that they were the albums I recently added to the library.  Generally, I just delete these phantom albums and that's that, but if there's something in my process I'm doing wrong to prevent it, I'd love to know!

Move command I use in Musicbee

Questions / Sorting from inbox temporarily breaks album art
« on: August 22, 2020, 05:31:30 PM »
I use a folder.jpg structure and the albumbs themselves are just fine with the album art, but when I sort something, it temporarily causes all the albums to "disappear" from the inbox until i refresh.  The gif below does a better job explaining it.  Am I doing something wrong, or is there possibly a simple fix to prevent this from happening?  It sinks in just as the album is being removed from the inbox and into the library.

Thank you so much in advance!

Still hoping to find a fix or suggestion for this issue.  Any thoughts?

Bug Reports / Multiple artists issue when using music explorer
« on: March 30, 2019, 05:26:53 PM »
A friend of mine noticed this issue.  Figured I'd post it up here.  So, when using multiple artists with a ; separator... There's a small issue when clicking on an artist that takes you to music explorer.  It searches for the artists together, rather than separately .. Please see the pictures below.

Obviously, I'd like it to search on the artist I click on, not both at the same time.  Is this already possible, or a fix that can be made? Thanks!

Tips and Tricks / Re: How to use the sub-grouping header

Excellent point, Hiccup.  I'm going to work on that now.  Totally forgot Picard had its own scripting options!

Tips and Tricks / Re: How to use the sub-grouping header
« on: November 14, 2018, 02:31:02 PM »
This is a beautiful subheader.  I often use Picard for my tags and I noticed it sets the album subtitle as a custom tag <DISCSUBTITLE>. Is there any way I can get this to pull from that? And even better, if I can make this <DISCSUBTITLE> become my virtual tag in musicbee so I can edit if if needed? I feel like I'm half-confident fiddling with this setup, but this is the last part that I'd really like to master if possible!  Thanks for the awesome support :)

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Better management for the File Organizer
« on: August 20, 2018, 05:56:49 PM »
Sorry to boost such an old topic, but has this been addressed in any way?  I'm having a similar action, using specific Genre functions for my organizing techniques.  would love to see both of these requests implemented someday :)

Questions / Re: Search Results have multiple albums combined
« on: August 13, 2018, 06:38:14 AM »
Thanks Steven for your input on it.  I did a fresh install and the searches seem to be separated properly.  I must've clicked something I shouldn't have somewhere.  :) I'll probably be back soon with another question about sorting, but that'll be a little later :D Thanks!

The offending option is the "always show full album in results" but I really prefer to have the full album (proper one of course) if possible! So it's..half fixed, I guess.  If anyone has a simple solution to make it work 100% I'd be glad to hear it :)
