Well, I did some testing. I played a song with my last.fm profile opened on the web browser.

First, I played the song fully while constantly refreshing the last.fm page. It showed the song as "Scrobbling Now" until the end (well past the 50% mark) and after it was fully played, the track was listed as scrobbled.
Then, I played the song again but this time I dragged the slider immediately closer to the end. It wasn't scrobbled. That means the slider has nothing to do with measuring the scrobbling point.
And after that, I played the track uninterrupted till it went slightly over the 50% mark, and immediately changed over to the next track. It was scrobbled!

So my conclusion 8) is that MB's scrobble point is 50%. After a track has been played, whether fully or not, it compares the amount of time it was actually played with the full time duration of the track to calculate the played percentage. If it's ≥ the scrobble point, the track will be scrobbled. I could be wrong...   ;D

Questions / Re: Wireless Sync to Android
« on: July 18, 2018, 04:24:13 PM »
I use Resilio Sync to get this done. I synchronise my entire library between my PC and mobile. It's very easy and convenient. This is what I have done.

1. Installed Resilio Sync on both my PC and android.
2. Paired the devices.
3. Added my music library folder to the PC version.
4. Connected it in android version and selected a folder for the files to be synced to.

That's it. From then on, every change I do to any of the files would be synchronised over WiFi between the two devices. I'm using GoneMAD as my android player (It's the only one compatible with the ratings of MusicBee). So when I change ratings in my mobile it would sync over to my PC. Same with adding and deleting files. And it's very safe because as it replaces the old file with the updated one, it moves the old file to a safe location where we can retrieve it if we want.

I've tried several methods and I can guarantee you that this is the ideal one. I've been using this for over a year and had no issues as far as I can remember.

You can import play count on startup by enabling this option: Preferences > Plugins > last.fm > synchronise Play Count

I don't know anything about the timestamp though.

Sorry for waking this topic up from 2 years sleep  ;D . But it doesn't seem to work  :( . I have a few .jpg files in my "Icons\Genres" folder but I can't see any of them in my Thumbnail Browser. Only random album arts. I tried to copy and paste them but the "Paste Artwork" option is greyed out in the Thumbnail Browser. Was this feature removed in new updates? May be accidentally?  :-X

Questions / [Solved] Can't fetch artworks from fanart.tv anymore
« on: July 05, 2018, 09:34:26 AM »
It worked until two or three days ago. But now it says "no match" whenever I try to tag my files. Other sources are working fine. I reported this to fanart.tv Discog and asked if it's something to do with the API. This was Kode's response:

"I might be wrong, but the only thing I can think of is one of the streaming services the MPAA asked us to disable the key of was using the MusicBee API key rather than one of their own.  In which case MusicBee would just need to generate a new one."

And he asked if I know what MusicBee's API key is. Well, I don't. Is there a possible solution for this guys? Or is it just me that have this problem?

Why are Mini Player's Star Ratings not coloured in green?

3 I had been using Itunes for quite a while ,i want to import any new tunes into the library ,Can MusicBee sort and arrange the albums like Itunes does,or is it just copy into music folder and re-scan.

Yes, MusicBee can sort and arrange the albums very neatly. First you'll have to set preferences for auto organize option, and then MB will handle the files according to the tags. It's set and forget!

Portable Devices / Re: Multiple genre tags in Poweramp
« on: April 30, 2018, 05:02:48 PM »
Yeah, but if Poweramp and many other players and tag editors recognize multiple values when using "; " as a separator (which is a standard), why can't MB write those values that way?  :-\  Why should it have to use multiple fields? It's the only player I know that write multiple values into separate fields. And of course MB can handle those values correctly because it's the one that writes them that way. Now the point is MB can handle multiple values well, also when they are written in a single field and separated with "; " (the standard method).

So the solution is very simple: Make MB write multiple values into a single field each separated with "; ", just like it is shown in the tag editor, just like many other players and editors do.

PS: Poweramp handles multiple values well when using the standard characters like "; ". It seems it is not optimized to detect/display multiple fields of genres correctly, since it is a very rare case (only people who use MB to tag their music will face this issue). But Poweramp complies with the standards.

PS2: This multiple fields thing is the one that causes GoneMad to show genre like this: "R&B Soul". If you retag that file with Picard or foobar2000, GoneMad will show "R&B; Soul" which makes more sense than the previous.

Thanks for the reply!

Portable Devices / Re: Multiple genre tags in Poweramp

Hi! I was doing some research all day and created an account just for this  ;) . The problem here is that MusicBee doesn't write multiple values in genre field using "; " as a separator, even though that's how it seems in the tag editor  :-\ .

Instead it writes each value in a separate genre(TCON) field. So there are multiple genre(TCON) fields with one value in each, not multiple values in a single field. So there are no "; " s in the actual tag. That's why PowerAmp cannot display those values correctly ??? .

But when I load those files in MusicBrainz Picard and save with or without doing any changes, it appends all genre fields into one separating each value by "; ". And what's great about that is MB can read those multiple values correctly  :) . And everything works fine in PowerAmp. But if I open those files in MB tag editor and save even without changing anything, things go bad  :( . So my conclusion is that MusicBee should save multi-valued genres in a single field separated by "; " instead of creating multiple fields thus saving us a lot of troubles.

PS: Excuse my English.
