Bug Reports / Re: Hangs on Radio Station if Station Does Not Respong
« on: January 15, 2022, 04:36:34 PM »
What "is" the issue? I'm just curious.

I can't explain what exactly the issue is, but I will explain how I fixed it - because I had exactly the same very very annoying issue before:
- updating the file "bass_aac.dll" from 2.4.5.8 to 2.4.5.22
- updating the file "basshls.dll" from 2.4.2.0 to 2.4.3.1

Both files are located right at the MusicBee program directory.
The link to the most recent version of "bass_aac.dll" can be found here ...
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=23454.0
The link to the most recent version of "basshls.dll" can be found here ...
http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?basshls24

This solved every streaming issues I had before. I hope it helps you too.
Greetings.

Herewith I just would like to suggest to update/integrate the file "basshls.dll" in the MusicBee-Package at least.
I assume the file "bass_aac.dll" can't be integrated due to licensing issues.

P.S.
I can't understand why this obvious issue the OP is pointing on here, is dealt in such indecent way. :(

Bug Reports / Re: Report Website related bugs/issues here
« on: June 25, 2021, 07:49:56 AM »
Hi there,

I'm still getting "Database Error" when I want to view "Sent Items".
In the message list I can see that I have replied to messages (marked with a backward arrow) , but in the "Conversation" view all my sent messages are not displayed.

I've just found out that in my message settings "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default." was disabled.
It looks to me that this could be the reason, but enabling it didn't change anything for still getting the above mentioned "Database Error".
Maybe I need to send again a message to have a look whats happen.

Just a thought: could it have something to do with that my profile username differs from my display name?

Thank You already.
Greetings

Hello, I've just recognized that there seems to be a problem with private SEND-messages: They can't be displayed at all. (at least for me).

That's what I get when clicking on "Send Items":

DATABASE ERROR
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

Can anyone have a look please?

Visualizers / Re: Milkdrop Visualiser Support
« on: June 22, 2021, 09:23:48 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I strongly start to belive there is a systematic problem with the Milkdrop 2.2 plugin in connection with the recent Windows and / or graphic driver updates.

In 90% case I get the following errors here (and random others too) followed by subsequent crashes of MB:

I'm sure I tried every solution approach which was mentioned in this thread here.
Unfortunately I had no success :(.

Currently I have several burning question:

1. Is anybody out there who got solved these issues in a reproducible way?
2. Who is the maintainer of the modified milkdrop-plugin which can work with MusicBee in general?
3. Can anybody confirm my theory that the almost ancient milkdrop-plugin is becoming incompatible with newer Windows or graphic driver versions just right now?
4. If the 3rd question must be answered with yes - can we all just only hope now to find a new maintainer for the open sourced milkdrop-plugin to heave it on a new level to be compatible with modern graphic APIs?

... in that regard, someone obviously did just that already and implemented the Milkdrop enigine into WebGL2:
    https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=35008.0
    https://butterchurnviz.com
The result just works rock solid and fluid as well  :o  - but in browsers only  :-\

I really would appreciate any constructive answers.

Thank you all.

Hi Phred,
thanks for your advice. I will have a look for that.

MusicBee Wishlist / MilkDrop Visualizer Fresh-Up : Butter Churn Viz
« on: May 30, 2021, 02:31:51 AM »
Hi there,

I love the original Milkdrop visualizer a lot, but struggle with the old fashioned plugin, which started working unreliable recently and causing constant crashes for me nowadays.
Right now - I just found Butter Churn Viz (https://butterchurnviz.com/)

"Butterchurn (2018) is a web implementation of the original source code of Milkdrop released on the WinAmp forum in 2007."

https://webamp.org/ Butter Churn in Action!
https://github.com/jberg/butterchurn/ Butter Churn SourceCode
https://www.wikiwand.com/en/MilkDrop

Immediately I tried to find a way to use it with / respectively getting it implemented into MusicBee somehow.
Since it can be displayed in a browser natively, I just wonder if it could get loaded/displayed into MusicBee as a Website somehow too ...

"Butterchurn v2.6.7.1e-complete (2020-08-20) is easy to implement with example webpage and extended functions and implementation manual."

There exist a Butterchurn Chrome Extention as well.

Otherwise, it's maybe just an inspiration but also a reminder to focus the attention again onto a very beautiful aspect of musical enjoyment - Visualization - and the support of these kind of plugins.

Greetings

Plugins / Re: Logitech LCD
« on: April 11, 2021, 05:18:28 PM »
Hi pitkon,

there is a very good chance for that.
You will need ...

- Logitech GamePanel Software 3.04.137 (should be the latest built of Version 3)
This should be used if ONLY LCD drivers are required to install. Otherwise you should install the latest drivers of your keyboard.
https://ftp.lp0.dk/pub/archives/ftp-sites/ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/keyboards/
https://ftp.lp0.dk/pub/archives/ftp-sites/ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/keyboards/lgps304_x64.exe
(Just run the Setup. The Installer contains the "Windows SideShow Driver for Logitech monochrome devices")

- MB Logitech LCD Plugin
https://github.com/jimmyd-be/MusicBee-Logitech-applet
https://github.com/jimmyd-be/MusicBee-Logitech-applet/releases/tag/2.4.2

Hope that will help you out.

Bug Reports / Re: 3.1.6512 Many Milkdrop command keys broken
« on: April 10, 2021, 05:46:11 PM »
Hello phread, Understood.
Unfortunately, I didn't bother to check OPs status.

Sorry to say this, but your answer make me feel uncomfortable. Is there anything wrong in your eyes to provide a solution to a problem that's potentially not only helpful for the OP but also anyone else who come across this thread and to make him/her happy to find a solution?
Otherwise, what's the purpose of keeping an unanswered post in here?

No offense. Have a nice Day.
Greetings.

Hello,

since more then one month now I've experience constant crashes when starting Milkdrop visualizer.

Steps to reproduce :
1. MB Visualizer is set "Milkdrop 2.2"
2. Press "V" to start visualizer
Result: "Window resize failed" > MB crash
(there is no difference when set to "Fullscreen" or "Normal" (tab))

Workaround:
Unknown so far - sometimes (20% chance) Milkdrop is just starting fine, without crashing MB!

This behavior did never happen 2 or 3 month before and unfortunately I can't say if it is now caused by a recent ...
- MB update
- Windows update
- AMD Adreanline driver update

Any one here who is facing the same issue too or already has resolved it ?

Greetings.

MB 3.4.7754
AMD Andrenalin 21.4.1
W10 20H2 Built 19042.928

(effort-benefit ratio for rolling back one of the mentioned updates unfortunately will be a pain and isn't intended by myself)

Hello chrisjj,

if I understood you well - you problem should be solved herewith ...
"You have to hold the [CTRL] key while navigation with the arrow keys."

Bug Reports / Re: MilkDrop Key-Mapping Problem
« on: March 28, 2021, 12:45:08 PM »
You have to hold the [CTRL] key while navigation with the arrow keys.

That is truly helpful  :)  Thank YOU!

I just recognized that the arrow keys obviously are already double mapped just within MilkDrop.
Strange! Especially because there is no hint for that.

However, thanks for Your support Coogan!
That's appreciated.

Bug Reports / Re: Mildrop Preset-Editing Menu
« on: March 27, 2021, 02:01:06 PM »
Hello again,

I would like to bring up that topic again once more, because unfortunately the described problem still persist.

The Main Problem is, that at least the following Keys are not getting mapped and forwarded from MB to the Milkdrop Visualizer Plugin:
- Enter
- Up
- Down
- Left
- Right

Please have a look at that Video to see why these keys are essential to being able to make full use of the MilkDrop preset selection and editing menu:
https://vimeo.com/391709724

It would be awesome to not be relied on Winamp just to make use of MilkDrops full potential.

Thank you for getting this fixed.
With kind regards.

MB: 3.4.7754

PS: here is some more useful info provided about MilkDrop:

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Artist Pictures items
« on: March 06, 2021, 08:15:57 AM »
1+

related to that, here a previous suggestion of mine:

+1   any options for local artist picture slideshow would be welcome

Personally I store artist pictures under the node [Music]\[Artist]\*.*
Album related pictures stored in [Music]\[Artist]\[Album]\*.*

I would like to suggest two things here:

1. An option allowing Artist Art rotation (exclusively) INCLUDING images in an local path like [Music]\[Artist]\*.*
2. An option allowing Album Art rotation (exclusively) INCLUDING images in an local path like [Music]\[Artist]\[Album]\*.*

... therefore ...
- all known picture file formats should be supported
- filenames with an special start character will be excluded from the slideshow - i.e. files starting with an dot .*

Any news about this? It's been 11 years now  ;D
And only 11 replies in those 11 years. Not exactly an overwhelming number of requests for this to happen.

IMHO the number of views on a thread is a good indication of interest on a specific topic as well.
Not everyone who likes to see a feature implemented also leaves a post, even if it would be desirable for active supporters.

Greetings.
