Cool beans, thanks - that's easier to find for sure. Since I kinda hijacked DA_iNFAMOUS_DRE's thread, still would be nice to have some crop/scale type options for the artist pics - eg so the artist pic can would consume the whole track info window with the album art overlaid on it - like in the Now Playing view.

So that's pretty great - but to be honest, I pretty much never have the "Now Playing" item selected, is there some way to basically allow the same level of customization in the the Track Information panel shown at the bottom of my player screenshot? Basically I guess I'm looking for a smaller version of the Now Playing view, ie, in the bottom of the middle panel only.


Hi Steven, thanks for the reply. I'm talking about the panel labelled "Track Information", in my case at the bottom of the player.

I'm afraid I can't find any way to customize the artist pics part of this panel, maybe I missed it (there are a lot of lil control panels in MB!). Meaning, for example, I'm not able to find any option to disable downloading artist pics into this panel.

Is it correct that MB is still looking in the "Artist Pics" subfolder for local images?

Also don't see options to modify the picture treatment in any way - eg, stretch/scale/crop etc. Not sure if that exists, as requested by the OP.


+1 on this request. I would add that the old MB2 feature of just pulling artist pics from a local folder is sorely missed! The cruft coming off these online sources is often low-quality, or some ugly/undesirable artist pic I don't want to look at. Can we get back a bit more control over artist pics? Thanks!!

Long time user of MB, thanks for this great player.

One problem I've been encountering since I got this new laptop - if MB is running, and then I put the laptop in Sleep mode, when I resume (exit sleep mode, enter password to unlock windows), MB will crash. It's win7 x64 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T450.

If there's any diagnostics/logs I can provide just let me know.

Portable Devices / MTP device no longer detected?

Out of the blue (not sure what caused it), MB is no longer detecting the presence of my MTP mp3 player (creative zen mozaic).

Windows 7 x64 detects it, I see it in WMP, and I *used* to see it in MB as well but all of a sudden it no longer shows up in MB at all! No changes to MB version, no particular updates to windows etc. that I can think of that might have caused this...

Is there some cache file or other way to 'jump start' this and make MB see this device again? I tried toggling the "detect MTP devices" setting in the prefs with no luck.

Other suggestions? Stumped....  :-\

I have some rather complex auto-playlists defined. Sometimes I want to create a duplicate of one and just modify 1 or 2 parameters. But there doesn't appear to be any way to duplicate or clone an APL. Can that be added at some point? It would save me a lot of busy work.  :P ;D

Thanks for the response - yep, agree, the first 2 are already doable with autoplaylists. I had looked at the playlist mixer as well (ie, feed the mixer with a couple autoplaylists) but it doesn't quite get me there combining all 3 of these requirements. The playlist mixer is too static - you can only say "use X tracks from this playlist, and Y tracks from the other.

If the playlist mixer could be specified as a percentage, and then also limit it to an overall size, that'd work but don't see a way to do that right now.

Here's what I'm after - would be delighted if someone can describe how I could do it with what's supported in MB already, but I've tried quite a few things (some pretty convoluted!  :D  ) and can't get it quite where I want it.

Basically I'd like an auto-playlist where I can do all of these simultaneously:

- apply some generic/global criteria (IS mp3, time < 20min, etc)
- apply some overall restriction (total size is less than a CD-R)
- and the clincher: pick 70% of songs from playlist X and 30% of songs from playlist Y

Or, even more basic: pick 70% rating >3 and 30% rating = 3.

Any thoughts?  ???

Would be nice to be able to use the edit tags dialog to change track info that's read from a cue sheet, ie, if playing a component song of a large mp3 file with corresponding cue sheet, and you do edit tags on that track, that MB would modify the cue sheet with the updated info (title, artist, performer, ie only whatever is supported by cue sheets of course) instead of always presenting the parent file's info. Maybe on another tab or something? It's a pain to find & open up the cue sheet text file just to correct a spelling error or something.

Foobar2000 has this capability and I'm missing it in MB. Thanks!

Hi Cartman - thanks for the reply, but to clarify, I have already added a custom tag for this, which works great - it's just that if the tag is present I want a bright red text line in the now playing & notification windows that I can quickly see, versus it being the same color & size as everything else right now...

Thanks for the reply - understood there's some customization already possible, I am just looking for a bit more  :D

Example: in the now playing panel, I'd like per-line size/color control for the data, eg, make the song title 12pt bold yellow, artist & album 10pt white, genre 8 pt white, or etc etc. There does not appear to be that level of control. In fact, for the first line it seems always to be bolded as long as it's just <Title> but otherwise not (even if it's something like: <IsNull(<Title>,NO TITLE!,<Title>)>. And the font size is fixed to one size for all lines.

Another (esoteric) example: I have a custom tag "<swearing>" so I can create auto playlists that don't have excessive cursing in them when the kids are around  :o In f2k I had a conditional line shown in red (Swearing!!) if that tag exists - don't see a way to do that in mb (I have the line there but it's the same font & color as the rest, it doesn't jump out).

Re: the notification dialog, same kind of thing, there's some amount of customization, just looking for the next level. Eg, you can change the font & font size but not the font color. And you're limited to just one tag displayed per line and no conditional stuff (ifnulls & such). On a side note, would also be nice if this popup "auto-scaled" to the longest line, up to a max width threshold (an option available in toaster for f2k).
