Questions / Re: transferring library
« on: May 12, 2024, 05:07:52 PM »
Welcome to the forum answersattheend,

This has been asked and answered many times before and I don't think I can make it any simpler so try looking at some of these:
Google search for 'Move to new computer'

Welcome to the forum Jang Seong-Oh,

Unfortunately you are not able to choose the album cover displayed here - I believe that it is selected at random.

Welcome to the forum marshall1975,

It sounds like you want to be using the Artists view (instead of the Album Covers view).

To change this, click on the panel header (the word Albums).

Looks good now, thanks.

And thank you for explaining how the inbox works. I don't actually ever use that feature - I saw that it's part of the folder monitoring workflow so I just turned it off.

Actually, if you don't use the inbox, what are the 531 items in there?

Glad you're sorted.

I have just posted a bug report for this so we'll see if Steven sees it as worth 'fixing' (what with the easy workaround).

Not sure this is particularly important but thought I would report - identified in this post

MusicBee 3.6.8869 P

With Folder Browser and Navigator both displayed in the same tab, switching from a selected folder to the Music node does not refresh the contents of the main panel (it retains the contents of the last folder selected).

If Library filters are configured and selected, then the main panel contents are refreshed as expected.
If any other node is selected first and then the Music node then the main panel contents are refreshed as expected.
If using the Computer node (instead of the Folder Browser), then the main panel contents are refreshed as expected - I imagine that most people use this, or would be happy to use this, instead.

Questions / Re: How to get rid of One-Track-Albums?

Glad it worked out for you.

.... and then it is gonna be perfect!
I'm not sure any of us ever quite get there.  ;D

Hi gapsynaptic,

1) It seems that you are correct here and I would consider this a bug.
A workaround: Disable the Folder Browser (from the Arrange Panels Configuration window) and use the Computer node instead (this should automatically be displayed when the Folder Browser is disabled) - you can configure it to display a subset of folders in the same way, works in the same way and selecting the Music node from here seems to reset the main panel contents as expected.

2) The Inbox cannot be hidden unless it is empty. From your first screenshot I can see that you have 531 items in your Inbox - you will need to either delete these from your inbox or send them to your library.

Any idea what i did wrong ?!
You didn't do anything wrong here - that album (The College Dropout) has more than 3 tracks in your library - I can see from the image that you have at least one track by J.Ivy on the same album and I assume there is more.

The issue you are seeing is caused by your left hand panel (the Thumbnail Browser) being set to display 'Artist'. You have selected 'Jamie Foxx' and there is only 1 track by this artist on the album.
I suggest that you set this panel to 'Album Artist' instead - click on the panel header (the word Artist) to change this. This album will then be under the Album Artist 'Kanye West'.

Questions / Re: resizing albums thumbs in compact grid

No, there is no manual adjustment - the Compact Grid layout is mainly determined by the size of the panel.

(You ask an awful lot of questions)

Questions / Re: question about grouping option
« on: May 06, 2024, 09:17:06 AM »
This is not possible - you could look at unchecking the option:

Group by > Show Header in a Separate Row

(but this does place the header text in a grey box instead).

Welcome to the forum Toshiro,

If I understand you correctly, you have a lot of 'albums' with only 1 track which you would like removed from your library (or you would rather not see in your Album Covers view).
There are several way of dealing with this - here are two:

1. Remove these tracks from you library:
Right Click on track(s) > Delete
(Make sure that you have 'Delete from library only' selected.)

However it would seem a shame not to have access to these tracks via MusicBee and you may find that, as you use it more, you would like to have these tracks in your library (for example when creating your own playlists), so I would recommend:

2. Create Library Filters to separate full and part albums:
Have a look at the Wiki page on Library Filters

Create one filter (Full Albums) with the rule: <Album Track Count> is greater than 2
Create one filter (Singles/EPs/Part Albums) with the rule: <Album Track Count> is less than 3

You can then display each filter on a different tab (with different views if preferred).

Questions / Re: Topbar in theatre mode
« on: April 30, 2024, 10:25:33 PM »
Welcome to the forum vold31,

There is basically 2 ways of displaying Theatre Modes in MusicBee:

1. MB Menu > View > Theater Mode
This will display the Theatre Mode in fullscreen (or a basic window with few menu commands). All controls will be part of the Theatre mode itself.

2. Embedded in the Now Playing tab.
This displays the Theatre Mode within the standard MusicBee window with all the standard MusicBee controls remaining accessible.

I think no. 2 is what you are asking for.
The second image in your post shows precisely how to enable this (make sure you are on the Now Playing tab).

Questions / Re: Songs order inside of a folder
« on: April 30, 2024, 10:08:12 PM »
Welcome to the forum Fancy,

I don't think that this can be done - the contents of the playlist folder do not act like a playlist but simply a collection of tracks. You can sort them by Artist or Title etc., but you cannot manually sort them as you can a playlist.

I can only suggest creating a third playlist and selecting all the tracks from Playlist 1 and drag them into Playlist 3, then select all the tracks in Playlist 2 and drag them into Playlist 3. (But obviously this won't be updated if you then modify Playlist 1 or 2).
